Abstract: This study contains a research of internal process and system audits and their role in improvement of automotive production facility effectiveness. Regulatory documents, methods and procedures regarding internal audit in production plant were analysed and conducted system audit described step by step. Results of internal audits during 2018-2020 in production plant were a part of investigation, audit findings against IATF 16949:2016 were collected and systematized and analysis was done regarding the influence of different audit types on continuous improvement process. Based on the result of the research, recommendations are provided regarding audits planning and implementation in the automotive production facility.
