Abstract: Boianovskyi R.I., Verba V.B. (supervisor). Storage facility for cylinders with combustible gases and oxygen hazards analysis. Master’s thesis. – Lviv Polytechnic National University, Lviv, 2020. Extended abstract. Ensuring the safety and protection of the population and industrial facilities from the negative effects of emergencies should be seen as an integral part of national policy in the field of state building. In this master’s qualification work, close attention is paid to the analysis of hazards for such types of hazardous technological processes as the storage of flammable gases and oxygen in cylinders. The site hazard analysis identifies all possible emergencies and accidents, including unlikely ones, with catastrophic consequences that may occur at the site, considers their development scenarios and assesses the consequences. Identification of opportunities and conditions of accidents is performed on the basis of analysis of the features of both individual equipment and their group (technological units), as well as taking into account the hazardous properties of substances and materials used at the site. The types of hazards considered include: - fire; - explosion (inside the equipment and on the site); - rupture or destruction of equipment; - a combination of these types of hazards. Study object – the storage facility of flammable gases and oxygen in cylinders LLC "Balony" in Kamyanka-Buzka. Scope of research – the explosive and fire hazard of the storage of cylinders with flammable gases and oxygen. Goal of research: based on the analysis of all possible emergencies and scenarios of their development at the facility to assess the explosive hazard of the facility. The first section provides information about the object of study and the methodology. The danger analysis of the enterprise is performed in accordance with the methodological recommendations of NPAOP 0.00-4.33-99 [1] and "Methods for determining risks and their acceptable levels for declaring the safety of high-risk objects" [2]. In the design and calculation section, the calculation of the easily dumped structure is performed. Double-glazed window units were used to reduce the excess pressure of the explosion inside the room. According to the calculations, at least one window block with an area of 3.99 m2 must be installed in the warehouse building where the propane explosion is possible. According to the identification procedure set out in the third section of the work, the object is investigated under the [3]. The total mass of substances of the 1st and 2nd groups which is on the object does not exceed the minimum value of the critical mass determined in accordance with paragraph 16 of the Procedure for identification and accounting of high-risk objects [3]. A potentially hazardous object is not a high-risk object. Leakages of oxygen, propane, acetylene from a cylinder or throught a cap were considered as hazards in the storage facility of flammable gases and oxygen of LLC "Balony". It is determined that all sections of the enterprise belong to the III category of explosiveness. Areas affected by explosions in the cylinder can cause injuries to people at a distance of ~ 23 m. Debris from the explosion in the cylinder can fly to a distance of 60 m. The storage facility of cylinders with oxygen and flammable gases of LLC "Balony" reaches the level of the possible hazardous accident –"A". The economic effect of the costs spent on fire safety solutions in the storage of cylinders is 22 725 324.64 UAH. As can be seen from the calculations, the capital and operating costs for the implementation of engineering solutions are insignificant compared to the possible damage from the fire. These costs are more effective not only from an economic point of view, but also from a social point of view, as they ensure compliance with regulations to exclude the effects of dangerous factors of fire (explosion) on people.
