Abstract: Project management in the field of IT is a discipline that combines various business principles, procedures and policies. She is the main one in managing the project, starting from the concept development process and ending with the implementation and completion of the project. Project management in IT has certain differences from conventional, functional management. Project management is more flexible, because there is a concept of a deadline, that is, the result must be provided at any cost by the deadline. This is the main reason for the transition from functional management to project management, as companies choose a guaranteed result instead of an abstract perspective. IPMA (International Project Management Association) conducted a study, according to which the transition to project management saves companies about 20% of time and 15% of resources. When considering the effectiveness of project management technologies, first of all, we talk about its dependence on the type of project, as well as the focus, both functional and branch. Because of this, the project identification process is extremely important. Depending on the use or other criteria, there are different classifications: ? scope of the project; ? its duration; ? the main goal and purpose of the project; ? scope and complexity, etc. Examples could be commercial and non-commercial projects, or public and private and others. Depending on the level of implementation, projects are classified into international, integration, national, regional and municipal projects. As for the solution of social and economic issues, the public-private sector plays the main role in this. When an idea arises to solve a problem, that idea becomes the basis of the project. As soon as there are people interested in the project idea, the development of a detailed plan for the project implementation process begins. This is a very important stage of the life cycle of the project, which allows you to determine the sequence of tasks to be solved, to estimate the terms of project implementation, the volume and quality of the resources involved. All this makes it possible to accurately assess the effectiveness of the project, its multiplier effects. While at the stage of implementation, it is necessary to systematically return to the plan and conduct an analysis of the planned and already completed. Monitoring and control processes during all stages of the project cycle play an important role, because they allow the successful completion of the project and, if necessary, timely amendments and corrections. Successful implementation of information systems includes quite a number of important and useful stages for the enterprise. In addition to directly starting work in IP, they help the company streamline key business processes and identify problem areas. The larger the company, the more employees whose functions and qualifications are questionable are accepted. Competent use of the information system will reveal them. Statistics show that only a third of all projects being implemented can be classified as successful projects. Currently, in the world economy, many projects and programs are not successful, because it is not possible to obtain the planned result, in some cases the latter does not even correspond to the indicators of the so-called pessimistic scenario. All this has a negative impact on the image of the project approach, the motivation of economic entities to finance them. Study object - software management processes. Scope of research is theoretical as well as practical aspects of the process of developing a software management information system project. Goal of research is to develop a project of a software management information system. The result of the research is the developed information system of the software management of the smart house, which implements all the necessary requirements that were put to it. The developed information system solves the problems of planning, plan development and administration, which was the main challenge before its creation, and also provides more opportunities for managing the data processing process from the sensors of the kitchen smart system.
