Abstract: In this master’s degree work decides task of research of methods of localization, positioning and determination of motion of the mobile stations (subscriber terminals) in the zones of coverage of network cells of mobile communication network 2G, 3G, 4G. A research aim is a receipt of comparative estimations of methods of positioning and localization of subscribers in mobile communication networks 2G, 3G, 4G. That determine quality of localization, positioning parameters it is set error of estimations of coordinates and probability of the correct positioning. In the first division the analysis of procedures of localization and positioning and their place is conducted in the general algorithm of work of mobile communication network; the possible use of row of technologies is set for the procedures marked higher. The basic fragment of algorithm of work of the system is procedure of registration of the mobile station in this zone of coverage of the system. In the second division the methods of localization, positioning are gone into detail for standards 2G, 3G, 4G in the conditions when the mobile station is in the different modes of activity. It is thus set that connection of the mobile station to the network requires obligatory recovery of data about a location. In the third division certain features of procedures of relay handover, localization and positioning are for standards 2G, 3G, 4G and the defined values of parameters of optimality for the row of methods of positioning. A comparative table over of errors of measuring and probabilities of the correct positioning is brought. In a fourth section the economic indicators of research executed are considered and set within the framework of this masters qualification work research. Object is a process of localization and positioning of the mobile stations (navigation determination) in mobile communication networks. Subject of research navigation in mobile communication systems GSM, CDMA, LTE; evaluation criteria. Article of research : dependence of criteria of estimation of methods of localization on technical descriptions of mobile communication networks.
