Abstract: Public passenger transport is one of the important factors for ensuring the full-fledged life of the city and its efficiency, uniting different parts of residential buildings into a single complex organism. Passenger transport is also an important part of the city’s industrial infrastructure [1]. Its stable and effective functioning is a necessary condition for the stability and growth of the economy and the city in general, the reconstruction of buildings, ensuring their integrity, improving living conditions and the level of development of the population [2]. The level of development of the city’s public passenger transport, according to scientists who are engaged in improving the efficiency of its organization, has significant economic and social significance. To the economic, scientists refer to the effect that is obtained due to the reduction of working time losses, the increase in the labor productivity of drivers, the improvement of the quality of transportation due to the reduction of fatigue of passengers during movement. The social results of improvement in the provision of services to city residents by bus transportation include expanding the range of opportunities for using a wider range of services [1,3]. Therefore, improving the operation and modernization of city transport is a factor that stimulates the modern development of the city and nearby communities. Since, the peculiarity of passenger bus transportation is that the routes run with outdated rolling stock, which does not all meet the requirements of today, which significantly reduces the quality of passenger transport services. Information about the volume of passenger traffic is important when drawing up a plan for the transportation of passengers on the route, the traffic mode and the schedule of departures, and for forecasting the future performance of transport enterprises. Such data make it possible to forecast the growth of transportation volumes and to determine ways of developing transport connections between districts for the implementation of new monitoring systems for tracking the operation of rolling stock. In order to improve the quality of transport services for city residents and to ensure the efficient use of vehicles, passenger transport enterprises must systematically research and study passenger flows, their changes by days of the week and hours of the day on individual routes and on the entire transport network. The regularities of the formation of passenger movement are a direct result of the realization of the needs of city residents in the conditions of a certain transport offer and are manifested in the distribution of travel distances of residents depending on the relevant area of residence and points of attraction [4]. Today, the task of developing a population movement model from the point of view of needs, which would take into account the existing patterns of urban transport movement, is relevant. Research on the regularity of changes in the demand for bus transportation and its possibilities is usually based on the study of passenger traffic, the processes of settlement of residents and the density of transport connections between city districts [5] To improve the operation of urban transport, it is necessary to constantly develop and implement new methods of managing the transport process, taking into account modern economic trends. Improving the quality of transport services on bus route #18 is urgent and consists in improving the operation of the rolling stock, so that the allowable time spent by passengers on movement is minimal, and the technical speed of the buses is high. Object of study – the process of studying the mode of operation of bus route #18. Subject of study – regularities in the formation of bus operation modes taking into account changes in passenger flow. The purpose of the study – analysis of the operation of buses on route #18, taking into account fluctuations in passenger traffic. As a result of studies of the passenger flow on the bus route and the analysis of bus traffic modes, the optimal traffic schedule and the sections of the streets on which there are disruptions in traffic schedules have been determined. Keywords – bus route, public transport stop, mode of operation, timetable, passenger flow. References 1. Ponkratov D. P., Dolia V. K. Model formuvannia pasazhyropotokiv u marshrutnii systemi mista.
