Abstract: Nechai A.; Krvavych A.S. (supervisor). «Study of Echium vulgare as a source of polysaccharides». Master`s thesis. – Lviv Polytechnic National University, Lviv, 2023. Extended abstract Study object – polysaccharides obtained from Echium vulgare L. Scope of research – biochemistry structure of native plant crops of Ukraine. Goal of research – study of biochemistry structure of Echium vulgare L., obtaining and study of extracted from the plant polysaccharides, approval of their possible practical application in the fields of biotechnological manufacturing. One step in addressing the burning environmental issue related to overproduction and overuse of non-biodegradable materials is using eco-friendly packaging produced from biodegradable polymer composites. This makes it possible to dispose material in a natural way without harming the environment. To create such material, it is viable to exploit plant-derived polysaccharides. The advantage of choosing polysaccharides lies in their non-toxicity, biodegradability and recoverability in nature with low carbon footprint. Further degradation products are also non-toxic to the environment. The highest value in the manufacturing biodegradable materials is related to the opportunity to use native plants of Ukraine, including weed culture as Echium Vulgare L. It would help to optimize cost and quantity of material by eliminating transportation costs. Research of Echium vulgare L. biochemistry structure for detection of biologically active substances groups as polysaccharides and flavonoids was mainly studied. Groups of substances were detected, obtained and examined for following potential use. At the same time, based on previously mentioned actuality of polysaccharides usage in the biodegradable materials field, the reaction of polysaccharides-based organic materials degradation in the soil with the help of microorganisms is provided in the paper. Improved simple method for synthesis and obtaining of biodegradable packaging film material is offered. In the calculation part presented the material stages for production of the dry polysaccharides mass obtained from Echium vulgare L. A basic technological scheme for the obtaining process of dry polysaccharides mass from Echium vulgare L. has been developed and designed. In the economic part of the work, technical-economic indicators were calculated and the economic feasibility of this work was proved. The conclusions formulated in the paper are in accordance with the literature data and are based on experimental material using modern research methods (Molisch`s test, gravimetric method, UV/Vis spectroscopy). Key words: biochemistry structure, polysaccharides, Echium vulgare L., biodegradability, degradation, design calculation. References: 1. A. Nechai, A. Krvavych and R.
