Abstract: This diploma thesis explores the integration of sustainable development principles within the architectural design of technology parks. As society increasingly relies on technology for economic growth and innovation, it becomes imperative to address the environmental and social impacts of these built environments. The aim of this research is to investigate sustainable architectural strategies and their implementation in the context of technology parks, considering their unique requirements and potential for positive change. The thesis begins by reviewing existing literature and theories on sustainable development and architecture, with a particular focus on technology parks. It examines the current challenges and opportunities associated with these developments, identifying key areas for improvement in terms of sustainability. The research then delves into case studies of existing technology parks that have successfully incorporated sustainable design principles, analyzing their architectural features, energy systems, transportation networks, and overall environmental performance. Furthermore, the thesis explores innovative approaches to sustainable architecture, such as passive design strategies, renewable energy integration, green infrastructure, and circular economy principles. It investigates how these strategies can be applied and adapted to the specific needs and functions of technology parks, taking into account factors such as site selection, building typologies, and user requirements. The research also considers the social aspects of sustainability, examining the impact of architecture on the well-being and productivity of the park’s occupants. In order to validate the findings, a comparative analysis of technology parks with varying degrees of sustainable design implementation is conducted. This analysis assesses the environmental, economic, and social performance of these parks, highlighting the benefits and challenges associated with sustainable architectural interventions.
