Abstract: The love to food occupies an essential place in modern culture. Not only the chef, but also the average person began to be more conscientious about the preparation of food and its origin. This growing interest started a revolution in food markets. Public markets are not a "new" idea. They have existed for centuries. Markets were originally conceived out of necessity. Farmers needed centralized means of sales and distribution of products and materials. Consumers did not have cars and modern supermarkets had not yet been invented. In this way, public markets appeared, which did much more for the community than providing funds for the purchase of food. They became a means of community support, providing economic and social enrichment. In addition to providing food for the local community, markets are responsible for providing improved economic conditions and more social opportunities than shopping in a supermarket. The new markets are considered entertaining food establishments. Many of them have bars and restaurants that create better and more pleasant conditions for shopping. Food also offers people a chance to connect with each other. Being a more sophisticated audience. The architecture and design of markets has become a crucial element in creating a successful business. Refined construction and hints of historical origins provide an authentic atmosphere for the markets while integrating such modern amenities. Branding and packaging also play an important role. Consumers have many choices, marketing and imagery appeal to customers and illustrate the artisanal nature of today’s markets. However, in this day and age, when the consumer is only a click away, the concept of "real-time shopping" in brick-and-mortar stores is under threat. However, certain retail typologies seem to be bucking the trend. The local market, regardless of whether it is housed in an architectural part or informally organized in the existing urban context, not only survives, but also thrives. However, the market also needs quality architecture, the interaction of space and society, which can enliven and give meaning that not only goes far beyond retail, but also supports shared spaces that unite different communities. Also later use this knowledge in designing the market in Drohobych. To summarize the findings of the research: the main mission of the market in Drohobych is to be a cornerstone of the community, a lively gathering place, a catalyst for small business and a provider of food security, and to be an opportunity for people to live, exchange, share and feel a sense of belonging. Creating a thriving public market is actually a means of achieving financial sustainability, creating social stability and fostering community communication. The concept of the designed market is based on the idea of using a natural material- wood. Today, more and more people choose wood for such complex projects as housing, offices, museums, bridges and even sports stadiums. This increase in the use of wood can be explained by various reasons: wood is cheaper than many other materials, it is easier to transport and the use of wood reduces carbon emissions. However, the main reason for using this material in the project is to create a spacious, bright and closer to human perception environment. Key words - market, product market, trade, architecture, commercial activity, consumers. References. 1.
