Abstract: Yarosevych T.V., Peleshko I.D. (supervisor). "Investigation of the parameters of earthen structures with retaining walls on steeply sloping sites using the BIM system". Master’s qualification thesis. Lviv Polytechnic National University, Lviv, 2023. The master’s work is devoted to the solution of technical problems of minimizing labor costs and material resources in the process of performing earthworks on a site with a steep slope, which is an urgent task today. This makes it possible to effectively use the available plots for development and actually equalize the cost of work and materials to plots with gentle terrain. The purpose of the study is to investigate the economic and time efficiency of earthworks with the installation of different types of retaining walls on steeply sloping sites using the BIM system. Tasks of research: ? to investigate the general trend of using modern technologies for designing and creating projects for atypical sites with a steep slope; ? compare modern design tools and check their effectiveness; ? using software analysis methods to compare the economic and labor efficiency in areas with a steep slope with and without the use of retaining walls and earthworks; ? calculate the amount of work, material consumption on the example of a site with a steep slope using the BIM system. The work consists of an introduction, three sections and conclusions. The full volume of the work is 25 pages and includes 19 figures, a list of primary sources used (11 titles). Briefly put research results: - An analysis of modern trends in the construction of earthen structures on steeply sloping sites with the use of retaining walls was carried out. The technical simplification of works using the BIM system, in particular the Revit program, is proposed. - It has been established that the BIM system makes it much more efficient and easier to simulate complex earthworks on areas with difficult terrain, and to increase the efficiency of work, calculate the volume of materials and the complexity of work. - It was determined how much the installation of retaining walls affects the volume of earthworks and reduces the volume of necessary land for backfilling. Keywords - earthworks, grading, vertical planning, retaining walls, BIM. References: 1. GRADING - A Workbook of Manual Land Grading Techniques George R. Williams AM, FAILA.
