Abstract: The object of the study is the process of checking the state of the main pipeline for the fact of detecting leaks and the amount of the leak. The subject of the study is the leak detection system along the controlled section of the main pipeline The purpose of the work is to develop an experimental model of an operational control system for the detection and localization of an oil leak due to the implementation of unauthorized cuts on a linear section of the main pipeline, which differs from existing analogues in terms of architecture and the algorithm for detecting leaks. Detection and localization of the leak site is achieved by a set of methods, among which the negative pressure wave method is the basic one. The result should be a system that can detect the leak, find the location, time and volume of the leak.
