Abstract: Kopot R. V., scientific director Ivakhiv O. V. Research of intellectual prosthesis of the upper limb. Master’s qualification thesis. - Lviv Polytechnic National University, Lviv, 2022. Extended abstract Mechanical and robotic systems occupy an important place among the means of restoring the condition of the human musculoskeletal system, which allow people with limited physical capabilities to restore, even partially, the functionality of a lost limb [1, 2]. Unfortunately, despite the existence of options and means for rehabilitation after a loss, injuries and diseases of the upper limbs, the latest bionic prostheses of various types are not yet widely used, which are able to provide the possibility of performing various actions by a person, that due to various adverse circumstances she lost her upper limbs. One of the main problems that reduces the likelihood of using a bionic prosthesis by a person with needs is its high cost, which significantly reduces the number of people who can afford it on their own. A possible option for solving the problem for such people is cheaper upper limb prostheses, which are a purely cosmetic option or use a traction mechanism with limited functional capabilities [3, 4]. The problem arises of analyzing the principles of operation, creation, structural and functional features of modern and promising bionic prostheses of the upper limbs, and to what extent it is possible to create a generally available version of an intelligent prosthesis in university conditions, without losing the functionality and quality of the parts used. Prosthetics is a medical and technical discipline that deals with issues of compensation for the missing or the treatment of the impaired function of the organs of support and movement with the help of special mechanical devices - prostheses. Prosthetics, which is a related discipline between medicine and technology, is closely related to orthopedics, traumatology and reconstructive surgery. Although prosthetics emerged as a separate discipline in the 19th century, information about it can be found in ancient times - from the Greek historian Herodotus, the Roman historian Pliny and others [5, 6].One of the types of prosthetics is anatomical - the production of artificial limbs - prostheses of arms and legs, teeth, eyes, nose, mammary glands and others; in that: ? endoprosthetics – implantation of artificial materials (vessels, joints) into the internal environment of the body; ? exoprosthetics are prostheses fixed from the outside. ? ectoprosthetics are cosmetic prostheses fixed externally and made of various materials, they are designed to restore the appearance of a lost part of the body. Ectoprostheses do not perform the function of a simulated organ. The object of research is an intelligent prosthesis of the upper limb. The field of research is anatomical prosthetics of the upper limbs. The purpose of the work is to design and check the model of the prosthesis of the upper limb to ensure the basic functions of the hand. The work is devoted to the research of the intellectual prosthesis of the upper limb. For this, an analysis of the types of prostheses today was performed and the history of their development was investigated. Further development prospects are considered and shortcomings of modern prostheses are outlined. The possibility of integrating the prosthesis with other technologies, for example Neurolink, is described. On the basis of an analytical review, an assessment of the current state and direction of anatomical prosthetics is provided, and the relevance of the creation and use of upper extremity prostheses is shown. In particular, it was established that there are no inexpensive intelligent prostheses with the desired set of functional gestures on the market. When performing the work, the concept of the prosthesis and its step-by-step implementation were described, including the modeling of the future prototype, and further ways of modernizing the existing concept were substantiated. Step-by-step procedures are described: ? determining the level of amputation; ? taking measurements of the scar of the lost limb; ? use by a person with the needs of an upper extremity prosthesis. In the course of the work, a research sample of an intellectual prosthesis of the upper limb was constructed, which in its design corresponds to the proposed concept of the prosthesis. Minor changes and improvements are needed for further operation of the existing prototype.
