Abstract: Actuality of theme. The study of the topic lies in its significance for understanding global geo-economic and geo-political transformations in the 21st century caused by China’s actions. The initiative implemented by China is one of the largest transnational projects, which sets itself the task of reorganizing the world’s economic paths. Consideration of this topic allows not only to assess the economic, social and environmental consequences for the participating countries, but also to identify new challenges and opportunities arising in the context of globalization and changes in the world order, especially in view of China’s strategic ambitions and its role in the international arena. The purpose of the study is to analyze and assess the consequences and risks of implementing China’s One Belt, One Road initiative from 2013 to 2023. The study aims to determine the impact of this initiative on the global economy, politics, geopolitics, infrastructure, socio-cultural relations and other spheres of activity. In accordance with the set goal, the following main tasks of the research objectives: 1) to investigate the adoption and evolution of the implementation of the initiative in 2013-2023; 2) carry out a description of the main provisions of the initiative; 3) establish the circle of subjects involved by China in the implementation of the initiative; 4) analyze the main consequences of the implementation of China’s initiative "One Belt, One Road": economic, political and geopolitical, infrastructural, socio-cultural consequences; 5) financial risks and becoming dependent on China for the states involved in the implementation of the initiative; 6) analyze political conflicts and other risks caused by the initiative; 7) justify the environmental problems caused by the implementation of the initiative. The object of the study is China’s One Belt, One Road initiative. The subject of the study is the consequences and risks of the implementation of China’s initiative "One Belt, One Road" during the period from 2013 to 2023. The chronological framework of the study is limited to the beginning of the creation of the initiative in 2013 and 2023. The methodological basis of the thesis is a complex of general scientific and special methods of scientific knowledge: system method; structural-functional method; historical method. Empirical methods include document analysis; content analysis. Used logical methods: induction, deduction, analysis and synthesis. The scientific novelty of the obtained results lies in the comprehensive analysis of the consequences and risks of the implementation of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative over a ten-year period, which allows us to gain a deep understanding of the impact of this initiative on various aspects of world development. The study includes an assessment of the economic, political, geopolitical, infrastructural and socio-cultural implications and risks associated with China’s Belt and Road initiative.
