Abstract: Chernychuk O. P., Berezko O. V. (supervisor).Conceptsofopticalillusions inthedesignofmodernresidentialinteriors. Master’s thesis. – Lviv Polytechnic National University, Lviv, 2020 EXTENTED ABSTRACT Study object–istheclassificationofopticalillusionsandthepeculiaritiesoftheiruseinthedesignofmodernresidentialinteriors. Scope of research-opticalillusionsin a modernresidential interior. Goal of research: istoestablishrecommendationsfortheuseofopticalillusionsinthemodernresidentialinteriorsdesign. Thefirstsectionoftheresearchstudiedthehistoryofopticalillusionsandanalysedliteraturesourcesofthetopic. RevealedthatopticalillusionsoriginatedfromancientEgyptandGreece, butpeakofitsdevelopmentbeganinthe 16th century, however, as a separatetrend, opticalillusionshavebeenformedquitelate - inthe 50’s oflastcenturyandinfluencedalmostallareasofdesigninthoseyears. Hadbeeninvestigatedworkofthefollowingauthors: L.Savelievaintheresearch "Opticalillusioninthearchitecturalspace" [1] studiedthehistoricalformationofopticalillusioninperiodofRenaissanceandBaroque; K.Arbuzova "Op-artininteriordesign"; "Itemsdesignandinteriordesignusingopticalillusions" M.Rudyk, V.Prusak, wheretheauthorsinvestigatedwaysofapplyingopticalillusionsdirectlyintheinterior; R.Arheiminhisbook "ArtandVisualPerception" examinedthepsychologyofperceivingvisualillusions, whereheextensivelyusesobservationaldata. Inaddition, thetopicwasexaminedindifferenthistoricalperiods, suchasAntiquity, theMiddleAges, theRenaissance, theBaroqueandtheturnofthe XIX-XX centuries. Theauthor’stypologyofmodernopticalillusionshadbeenderived: dimensionalinstallations, shadowillusions, angularillusions, streetart, paperanamorphoses, galleryanamorphoses, cylindricalmirrors, artinstallationsintheair, surrealism, binoculars, reversalsofthree-dimensionalimages, bodyartillusions. Inthesecondсhapterwereinvestigatedmethodsofstudyopticalillusions. Theresearchusedmethodsofanalysisandsystematizationoflearnedliteratureandillustrations, aswellascomparativemethod. Thisresearchworkwerebasedonthefollowingworks: "Artandvisualperception", R.Arnheim [2]; "Techniquesforcreatingopticalillusionsinarchitecture", A.Komarova[3]; "Op-artininteriordesign", I.Kuznetsova, K.Arbuzova [4]; "Itemsdesignandinteriordesignusingopticalillusions", M.Rudyk, V.Prusak [5]; "Spatialexperimentsinmodernarchitecture (Forthequestionof "newimages ")", K.Vytuleva [6]; "Visualillusionsinarchitecturalcomposition" L.Savelyeva [7]. Alsowasproposedthemethodofhardware-freeidentificationofkeylocationsforplacingopticalillusionsin a residentialinterior. Thethirdchapterexplorestheartisticandpsychologicalperceptionofopticalillusionsininteriorspace[8]. Forconsiderationtheinteractionofopticalillusionswithlivingspace, theauthordifferentiatedthecomponentsofperceptionofopticalillusionsinthespaceintopsycho-emotionalcomponent; artisticandaestheticcomponent (keypositionsthatcaption a person’sattention); componentofadjustingtheperceptionofspace (deformationofthedepthofspacebythemethodofdistortionofperspective). Accordingtotheresultsoftheanalysisofopticalillusionsclassifications, theirartisticandpsychologicalperceptionintheinteriorspace, werestudiedtheartisticmethodsofcreatingopticalillusionsthatcontributetotheachievementofvisualeffectsintheresidentialinterior. Theyshouldincludethree-dimensionalinstallations, repetitiveelementsoffractalsandmirrorimages, supergraphics. Thefourthchapterformulatesrecommendationsfortheuseofopticalillusionsinmodernresidentialinteriors, whichspecifiesthewaysandmethodstocreatemodernopticalillusions. Therearesevenprincipalillusions, whichshouldbeusedintheinterior, inparticular, artmimicry, distortion, pareidolia, anamorphosis, pseudohypnosis, ephemerisationandantigravity. Eachoftypesofopticalillusionswasanalysedandbasedonthestudyofthesefeaturesthereareprovidedexamplesofmanagementofthesetypesininteriordesign. Keywords: optical illusions, anamorphosis, distortion, mimicry, pareidolia, pseudo hypnosis, ephemerisation,anti-gravity. References 1.
