Abstract: The theoretical and practical analysis of the factors that determine the quality of transport service on public transport routes is carried out in the applied scientific work. The main among such factors are the average technical speed and speed of communication, straightness of routes, comfort of travel. These factors determine the attractiveness of the route and the productivity of the route. An exemplary result of the work is to determine the regularity of changes in the speed of traffic on urban routes in different periods of the day and year, which are based on arrays of data obtained from GPS-receivers. Such patterns allow for the development of infrastructure improvement recommendations and the improvement of regulatory measures.
