Abstract: The paper presents the results of theoretical and experimental studies of the main factors and indicators that determine the values ??of practical capacity of the main road network in large cities. Experimental relationships between the level of homogeneity of traffic flow, intervals between vehicles and the amount of practical capacity are determined. The results of research are important in determining the capacity reserves in cities in terms of increasing the level of motorization and limiting the possibility of implementing organizational measures.
