Characteristics of the educational program: Provision of knowledge to solve complex problems in the field of biotechnology, microbiology, genetics, bioengineering, to carry out research and innovation activities, which implies deep rethinking of existing and creation of new holistic knowledge, as well as practical implementation of the obtained results.
Gained competence: -knowledge of modern research methods in the field of biotechnology, bioengineering and bioinformatics for the development of new biotechnological objects; -the ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the foundations of molecular biotechnology and bioengineering; - in-depth knowledge of modern physicochemical and biophysical methods for the determination of bioorganic products; -the knowledge of methods of genetic, cell engineering and selection of microorganisms and plants, and modern methods of study and identification of GMOs, immuno- and DNA diagnostics; -the knowledge and understanding of the philosophical methodology of scientific knowledge, psychological and pedagogical aspects of professional and scientific activities, own scientific worldview and moral and cultural values.
-to search, analyze and critically evaluate information from various sources; -to apply knowledge and understanding to solve problems of synthesis and analysis of elements and systems characteristic of the chosen field of research; -to study and simulate processes in biological systems; -to apply a systematic approach with the integration of knowledge from other disciplines and taking into account non-technical aspects, to solve theoretical and applied problems of the selected field of research; -to combine theory and practice, as well as to make decisions and develop a strategy for solving scientific and applied problems, taking into account universal values, social, state and industrial interests; -to work effectively both individually and in a team; -to perform experimental research independently and apply research skills; -to assess the feasibility and possibility of new methods and technologies in the development of biotechnological bases and methods of production of new bioproducts and biopreparations, improvement of existing ones; -to argue the choice of methods for solving scientific and applied problems, critically evaluate the results, and sustain position.
-the ability to communicate effectively at the professional and social levels; -the ability to present and discuss the obtained results and transfer the acquired knowledge; - ability to adapt to new conditions, make decisions independently and initiate original research and innovation complex projects; - the ability to be aware of the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen acquired and acquire new professional knowledge; -the ability to be responsible for the work being performed and to achieve the stated goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics.
