Characteristics of the educational program: Special education, professional and scientific training in the areas focused on creating algorithms for coding, recognition, interpretation, generation, processing of language and speech, translation, intercultural communication, formation and creation of linguistic support for various systems of natural language processing and development of automatic data processing systems.
Програмні результати навчання: • to characterize theoretical principles (frameworks, categories, principles, basic concepts, etc.) and applied aspects of specialized research in the field of language use; • to apply specialized conceptual knowledge in the field of applied linguistics to solve complex tasks and problems that require updating and integration of knowledge, often in conditions of incomplete/insufficient information and conflicting requirements. • to apply modern methods and technologies, in particular information related, for successful and effective implementation of professional activity and assuring the quality of research in the field of applied linguistics; • to evaluate and critically analyze socially, personally and professionally significant problems and suggest ways to solve them in difficult and unpredictable conditions, which requires the use of new approaches and forecasting; • to analyze, compare and classify different approaches and schools in linguistics. • to evaluate historical and modern achievements of applied linguistics and other areas of linguistics; • to collect and systematize linguistic, literary, and folklore data, interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres; • to carry out scientific research into language, speech and literary data, to interpret and structure it selecting appropriate research methodologies, to formulate generalizations out of independently sourced data; • to create, analyze and edit texts of different styles and genres; • to select appropriate research approaches and methods of specific linguistic or literary data analysis; • to plan, organize, conduct and present research and/or innovative developments in applied linguistics; • to perform automatic natural language processing of: analysis, synthesis, speech recognition, morphological and syntactic text analysis; • to develop, implement and provide linguistic support for electronic information systems, electronic language resources for various purposes and natural language processing systems; the ability to create electronic language resources (text corpora, dictionaries, linguistic databases), automated document management and reporting systems, information retrieval systems and web interfaces, develop their design and linguistic support; • to conduct linguistic examination of written and spoken language; • to provide linguistic support of licensing, prepare patent documentation in a foreign language in accordance with international standards and provide linguistic support for certification at the international level. • to be proficient in the state and foreign languages for the purpose of written and oral communication, in particular in situations of professional and academic communication; to present research findings in the state and foreign languages • to find the best ways of efficient interaction in the professional team and with representatives of other professional groups of different levels; • to apply the knowledge of expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques to achieve the intended pragmatic result and build successful communication; • to explain in a clear and convincing way the nature of specific philological problems, their solutions and argumentation to experts and general public, in particular students. • to maintain academic integrity; • to realize the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen the acquired and gain new professional knowledge
