Qualification requirements and regulations, including graduation requirements: The full execution of the curriculum and defense of Master's Thesis in the form of the diploma thesis (DT) or diploma project (DP)
Characteristics of the educational program: Training involves theoretical, practical and research training; the gathering and processing of materials on the topic of master's studies; preparation of scientific article to professional journal; writing of scientific reports, theses, reports, course works; summarizing the results of own research. The student must complete a training program of 90 ECTS credits, including: - Training courses - 79,5 ECTS credits; - Course works / projects - 3 ECTS credits; - Practice - 18 ECTS credits; - Execution and defense of qualifying work - 19,5 ECTS credits. Masters are training for organizational management, investment and research activities, for the prepare for teaching and scientific reserve of higher education institutions, research institutions in the field of pharmacy and pharmaceutical technology.
Програмні результати навчання: Knowledge: 1. Basic principles of the organization of the chemical and pharmaceutical enterprise management, Good Pharmaceutical Practices, basics of pharmaceutical marketing, the drug registration procedures. 2. Basic principles of designing chemical and pharmaceutical production facilities in accordance with the requirements of the Good Manufacturing Practice. 3. Basics of drug-design and features of technologies for the obtaining of medicinal and veterinary drugs. 4. Methods of biotechnology and bioengineering for the production of biological / biotechnological products. 5. Theoretical basics of technological methods of production of drugs in various dosage forms. 6. Types, design features, and principles of equipment operation of pharmaceutical enterprises. 7. Clinical and pharmaceutical aspects of drug use. 8. Methodology of scientific research, basics of patenting, the legislative framework in the field of intellectual property. 9. The manufacturing technologies and principles of the use of medicinal and cosmetic products, use of plant raw materials and phytotherapeutic preparations. 10. The ecological aspects of pharmaceutical production, technology for the treatment of gas emissions and wastewater, as well as technologyof low-waste production. 11. Basics of the legislation of Ukraine in the field of quality control of medicines, the quality management system of pharmaceutical enterprises. 12. Means of human protection and the environment from hazardous factors of man-made and biological origin. 13. Polymers for biomedical application and nanostructures as components of medicines with prolonged and controlled release and therapeutic targeted delivery systems. 14. Methods of solving computational and experimental tasks as a basis for scientific research and the basis for original thinking. Skills: 1. Carry out management of the pharmaceutical production unit, analyze the economic performance of its activity. 2. Apply knowledge for creation and registration of a pharmaceutical company, development of a business plan, carry out marketing research. 3. Design a chemical and pharmaceutical enterprise taking into account the requirements of safety and GMP standards. 4. Carry out a stepwise synthesis and select the technical conditionsof the production of veterinary medicines. 5. Choose the ways to obtain biological/ biotechnological products. 6. Apply knowledge of chemical and pharmaceutical technologies for the introduction into the production of medicines in various dosage forms. 7. Select and use equipment of pharmaceutical production. 8. Carry out research and use the Laws of Ukraine in the field of intellectual property, present scientific material to a professional audience, argue the results of research. 9. Produceand standardize medicines from plant raw materials. 10. Select and implement optimal technological schemes that provide for the disposal of hazardous waste. 11. Ensure compliance with the rules of professional and civil safety. 12. Apply the requirements of the current legislation of Ukraine and knowledge of modern quality control systems for medicines. 13. Produce medicinal cosmetic products, control their quality. 14. Develop the scheme of effective, safe and economically affordable pharmacotherapy. 15. Solve problems in unfamiliar environments with incomplete information, taking into account aspects of social and ethical responsibility. 16. Apply polymersfor biomedical applications and nanostructures as components of medicines. 17. Synthesize substances of a certain structure based on an understanding of the main biochemical processes in the body and concept of a correlation"structure - activity". Communication: 1. Ability to communicate, including oral and written communication in Ukrainian and foreign languages. 2. Ability to use a variety of methods, including modern information technology, for effective communication at the professional and social levels. Autonomy and responsibility: 1. Ability to understand the necessity of lifelong learning in order to deepen the acquired and acquire new professional knowledge. 2. Ability to be responsible for the work performed, to make decisions independently, to achieve the goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics. 3. Ability to demonstrate an understanding of basic professional principles, occupational safety and health and their application.
Academic mobility: None, but mobility is encouraged and recognized in accordance with procedures of ECTS
Work placement(s): 9 credits (research practice based on the Theme of Master's Thesis). During practice students apply knowledge about synthesis of biologically active compounds, methods for their identification, computer softwares for diagnostics of biological activity for further practical application as potential drugs.
