Specific arrangements for recognition of prior learning: In case the previous level has been received in foreign country, it is necessary to nostrification conducted by the Lviv Polytechnic. There are no mechanisms for recognizing informal education.
Qualification requirements and regulations, including graduation requirements: Total studying program completion, pre-diploma practice according to masters’ qualification thesis topic and masters’ qualification thesis defence.
Characteristics of the educational program: Educational and professional program is based on well-known statements and modern scientific research results in telecommunications, in particular, telecommunication software platforms, and orients students at promising specialties, in which further professional and scientific career is possible as professional in telecommunications and redioengineering. Laboratory activities are performed using modern telecommunication equipment and leading software developers’ products.
Gained competence: 1. Knowledge of theories and methods of designing radio and telecommunication systems and networks, including basic specifications and regulations in scope needed to solve specialized problems and practical problems in the field of professional activity. 2. Knowledge in the field of civil protection in professional activities in order to minimize the impact of emergencies on the functioning of radio and telecommunications systems. 3. Knowledge of technologies for development and operation of mobile communication systems and networks of 3-5 generations in scope needed for their calculation and planning. 5. Knowledge of protocols and methods of development of infocommunication networks in scope needed for professional activities in appropriate level. 6. Knowledge of software platforms and technologies of their application for development of the specialized software of information communication networks. 7. Knowledge of the basics of information security of telecommunication systems. 8. Knowledge of the basics of system programming of infocommunications for development and maintenance of specialized software systems. 9. Knowledge of specifications and regulations for the design and operation of telecommunications systems and their elements. 10. Knowledge of algorithms and protocols for routing and flows distribution in telecommunications networks in scope needed for their system administration. 11. Ability to lifelong learning and continuous training in the workplace. 12. Ability to work in a team and present the results of their activities.
1. Ability to apply the methodological basis for research in the field of radio electronics and telecommunications. 2. Ability to apply knowledge in the field of information security of radio and telecommunications systems and networks for planning and application of actions, decision-making to ensure the protection of information and technical systems in the field of professional activity. 3. Ability to design systems and networks in the field of professional activity using current regulations and technical standards. 4. Ability to apply knowledge in the field of civil protection in professional activities in order to minimize the impact of emergencies on the functioning of radio and telecommunications systems. 6. Ability to speak English to a sufficient extent to carry out professional activities, write scientific articles, read and interpret international technical standards. 7. Ability to administrating of heterogeneous local telecommunications networks based on the TCP / IP protocol stack. 8. Ability to conduct research in the field of information communication networks to the extent sufficient to identify patterns of their behavior and increase the efficiency of their operation. 9. Ability to develop specialized software systems and complexes for professional activities. 10. Ability to plan, develop and research distributed heterogeneous service systems using elements of Cloud technologies. 11. Ability to plan, develop and research IoT systems using ubiquitous computing technologies. 12. Ability to configure routing protocols in telecommunication network nodes to perform responsibilities of a system administrator.
1. Ability to communicate at different levels of communication, including oral and written communication in Ukrainian and one of the foreign languages (English, German, French, Spanish), in particular to understand the tasks, formulate an assessment of its feasibility, ask questions and comments, report on results of work, make a public speech / presentation, etc. 2. Ability to use a variety of methods and means of communication, including advanced information technology in professional and social communication.
