Characteristics of the educational program: The purpose of the educational program: to provide theoretical knowledge and practical abilities and skills for successful performance in the area related to a specialty " Avionics" and to prepare students for further training in the chosen specialization. Orientation of the educational program : the educational program is based on the well-known concepts and results of modern scientific researches in the field of contemporary avionics and focuses on the application of new informational technologies and electronic equipment for solving the problems encountered in avionics. It guides students to further professional and academic career, related to information technology and avionics activities namely design and development of avionics, take-off and landing control systems, unmanned aerial vehicle control systems, economics of aviation enterprises. Basic focus of the educational program : the special education and professional training in area of avionics. Teaching and studies : lectures, laboratory works, self-instruction with application of virtual training environment, tutorials, preparation of bachelor thesis. Evaluation: written and verbal examinations, laboratory reports, graphic calculation papers, run-time control, bachelor thesis defense
Gained competence: 1. Basic knowledge of fundamental sciences in a scope enough to study the core professional disciplines; 2. Basic knowledge of scientific concepts, theories and methods necessary to understand the principles of operation of aviation systems; 3. Basic knowledge of concepts and current trends in avionics; 4. An ability to sort out the main problems and tasks of avionics and use this knowledge in experimental and theoretical activities 5. Knowledge of programming and informational technologies; 6. Basic knowledge of technical specifications, design features, purpose and rules of operation of the aviation systems and electronic equipment; 7. Knowledge of methods and means of study and analysis of the effects of physical factors on the human body during the operation of avionics. 8. Knowledge of the principles of construction, functioning and programming of microprocessor technology for on-board systems
1. An ability to use programming tools for creating and applying software for solving the problems of modeling, design and operation of aviation systems; 2. An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering for solving the problems of avionics; 3. An ability to identify, classify and describe system and component operation using analytical and simulation methods; 4. An ability to operate control and measuring devices and systems and perform processing of measurement information. 5. Ability to choose and justify the use of radio components in servicing avionics, to test experimentally the performance of devices operated in flight and to determine their characteristics and technical suitability for safety-free flights
1. An ability to use professionally profiled knowledge and practical skills for solving typical problems of specialty, namely an ability to identify, formulate, and solve avionics problems; to choose methods for specific problems, to make a decision, critically evaluate and protect it; 2. An ability to use the knowledge and skills to investigate, model, design, modernize, improve maintenance and general efficiency of aviation systems and their components; 3. An ability to communicate effectively in a professional and social level; 4. An ability to work both individually and in a team, in particular, in the cross-functional and interdisciplinary team. Skills to work independently (thesis), or in a group (laboratory works, including leadership skills at their implementation), an ability to get a result within limited time. 5. The research skills and the ability to search and analyse information from different sources including those in English or other foreign languages; an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyse and interpret data, concerning avionics systems structure and operation
