Specific admission requirements: The rules of admission to postgraduate study set requirements for performers who study the features of the educational and scientific program (ESP). Entrants must provide research papers on topics (content) that meet the characteristics of the ESP. These works include: scientific works and patents for inventions (author’s certificate of inventions) / in the absence of scientific works and patents-abstract. Entrance examinations are conducted on the basis of the program of entrance tests of the content which takes into account features of ESP.
Specific arrangements for recognition of prior learning: Provided that the previous level was obtained in another country, nostrification is required, which is carried out by Lviv Polytechnic.
Qualification requirements and regulations, including graduation requirements: Full implementation of the educational component of the program (exams and tests).
Characteristics of the educational program: The educational and scientific program is based on the fundamental postulates of political science, the results of modern scientific research. Aimed at the development of theoretical-methodological and methodological-applied base of political science, with the emphasis on new trends in political science, which deepens the professional scientific worldview and involvement in research and further professional and scientific activities. The educational and scientific program is aimed at topical aspects of the specialty, in particular, it includes the theory and history of political science; political institutions and processes; political culture and ideology; political problems of international systems.
Gained competence: Ability to solve complex specialized problems and practical problems during professional activity in the political sphere and to apply theories and methods of political science in conducting scientific research. Deep knowledge of modern research methods, understanding of the nature of science and methodological features of scientific knowledge. Ability to organize and conduct training sessions using traditional and innovative teaching methods for personal, professional and social development of the individual. Ability to produce new ideas, be creative, solve complex problems in the process of innovation, research and professional activities, commercialize original research. Ability to search, process and analyze information, apply skills of using information and communication technologies. Ability to think flexibly, which allows you to understand and solve problems and problems, while maintaining a critical attitude to established scientific concepts. Ability to solve tasks and make informed decisions, effectively plan and manage time, work independently and in a team, represent new ideas and projects in the chosen field. Ability to communicate, present and discuss scientific results in a foreign language orally and in writing, understanding foreign scientific texts. Fundamental knowledge of political history, classical and modern theories of politics. Understanding of theoretical and methodological bases of political researches, theories and methods necessary for realization of scientific activity in the field of policy. Understanding of basic approaches and theories of political science, mastery of skills of political analysis, forecasting, modeling and political consulting. Understanding of modern world and national political processes, features of functioning of political institutions.
Application of the acquired knowledge and practical skills to solve specific problems in the political sphere.
Ability to independently develop a program of specific political science research, to provide expert assessment of current political events and processes.
Ability to use and implement the latest information and management technologies in politics, solve applied political science problems, make effective policy decisions. Possession of system knowledge, which will allow to critically analyze domestic and international processes, to determine trends in their development.
Understanding of tools and strategies for diagnosing and analyzing the development of political phenomena at the level that will allow employment in the specialty at the national and international levels. Ability to demonstrate deep knowledge and understanding of scientific and methodological principles of political science, the basics of professionally oriented disciplines of the specialty. Knowledge and skills in diagnosing current problems of modern society, development and implementation of new innovative projects in the field of politics. Knowledge of the basics of management and administration of research projects, knowledge of foreign languages required to present scientific results and conduct professional scientific dialogue. Knowledge of the essence of the organization of the educational process, modern approaches to planning, organizing and conducting research and educational work. Apply the acquired knowledge and understanding for scientific analysis of political problems and phenomena, using scientific methods. Systematically think and apply creative abilities to the formation of new research in politics. Select and apply the methodology and tools of scientific research in the implementation of theoretical and empirical research in politics. Combine theory and practice, as well as make decisions and develop strategies for solving scientific and practical problems.
To execute relevant research and apply research skills in the field of political science, conduct scientific discussions in Ukrainian and foreign languages at the appropriate professional level, present the results of scientific research, conduct training sessions.
