Characteristics of the educational program: The educational-scientific program is aimed at the development of theoretical-methodological and methodological-applied base of chemistry with accentuation of the newest tendencies of development of chemistry of potential medicines and actual aspects of the specialty within which further scientific and teaching career is possible. The educational and scientific program covers a wide range of modern innovative vectors for the development of the theory and practice of pharmaceutical chemistry, which forms an updated theoretical and applied base for scientific research.
Gained competence: - knowledge of pharmacognostic methods of analysis based on analytically regulatory documentation; the basics of the legislative framework of Ukraine governing the legal relations related to the creation, registration, production, quality control and medicinal products, including medicinal herbal raw materials and products of its processing; -knowledge of the process of drug creation, screening and improvement of structure, close to the stage of clinical trials and organization of production; methods of quantifying the structure-activity relationship - Ability to use different methods to solve analytical tasks: qualitative, quantitative analysis, purity testing, substance identification, correctly select research methods, use the most effective, reliable and informative methods for a particular compound; - ability to describe the schematic diagram and the procedure for adjusting the main devices, to carry out the analysis of the test substance; make a comparative description of the methods that can be used to analyze the test substance; - - ability to carry out scientific researches and carry out scientific projects with the use in practice of theoretical knowledge related to the identification of medicinal plant raw materials, determination of its good quality and carrying out of scientific, phytochemical and biological researches with the purpose of development of projects of methods of quality control (MCQ) or Temporary Pharmacy (TFS).
- to analyze the basic tendencies of modern development of physical and physicochemical methods of determining the structure of substances; to classify modern instrumental methods of analysis and to determine the scope of their use; use different methods to solve analytical tasks: qualitative, quantitative analysis; interpret the data of spectral methods, know the limits of their application, and vice versa having organic matter to predict the physico-chemical characteristics; - to carry out the analysis of the test substance; competently evaluate the results of the analysis; have a good background in working with reference books; - to carry out scientific researches and carry out scientific projects with the use in practice of theoretical knowledge related to the identification of medicinal plant raw materials, determination of its good quality and carrying out of commodity, phytochemical and biological researches with the purpose of development of projects of methods of quality control (MCA) or Temporary Pharmacopoeial TPS); - to carry out preclinical study of medicines and expertise of materials of preclinical study of medicines; - to carry out preclinical study of medicines and expertise of materials of preclinical study of medicines; - to apply basic indicators of quality of medical and pharmaceutical technologies; outline the factors that affect the quality of medicines; - to use the necessary regulatory documentation, reference literature and other information sources to ensure rational pharmacotherapy.
- the ability to apply fine organic synthesis methods; - the ability to apply the formed holistic ideas about fine organic synthesis in search of new medicinal substances; - the ability to form a clear understanding of the strategy and tactics of modern fine organic synthesis, theoretical foundations of organic chemistry and mechanisms of organic reaction - the ability to form practical skills in the physico-chemical methods of study used in the study of chemical materials; - the ability to apply knowledge of specific methods of physico-chemical research to identify organic compounds of substances of different classes, including potential medicinal substances; - the ability to carry out, by the method provided, a qualitative and quantitative analysis of raw materials, intermediates and finished products of chemical and pharmaceutical industries; - the ability to use the complex knowledge of the principles of pharmaceutical development of medicines of various forms of production, laboratory tests, clinical trials, registration of medicines, requirements for production, distribution and retail sale and rational use of medicines.
