Characteristics of the educational program: Students of "Fire Safety" master's degree studies gain knowledge related to fire safety for civil and industrial facilities, such as design and application of fire protection, fire prevention, fire tactics, fire engineering, design, technology, operation of buildings and structures on fire load and ensuring fire safety requirements. Educational process is inextricably linked with scientific work in the laboratories of departments using advanced equipment and software.
Gained competence: - Apply specialized conceptual knowledge, including modern scientific achievements to solve scientific and applied problems in the field of fire safety. - Apply effective methods and tools to study the mechanism of fires and fire risks, including methods and tools of mathematical and computer modeling, statistical data analysis. - Assess the level of danger in the event of a fire and the capabilities of fire and rescue units. - Analyze the requirements for fire safety established in the technical documentation for substances, materials, products, technological processes, buildings and structures of facilities. - Plan and carry out research and innovation projects, justify the choice of research methods and tools, analyze the results, argue conclusions, present research results. - Apply the acquired knowledge and understanding to identify, formulate and solve fire safety problems, using known methods. - Apply knowledge of technical characteristics, technological features of product formation and implementation in the specialization of fire safety. - Carry out relevant research and apply research skills in the field of services for the design, installation and operation of systems that ensure fire safety of construction sites. - Practical use of knowledge, ability to apply methodical tools of knowledge in the field of services on design, installation and operation of the systems providing fire safety of objects of construction; analyze the results of research in the context of existing theories, draw appropriate conclusions.
- Develop and implement projects in the field of fire safety, taking into account the objectives, constraints, as well as technical, social, economic, legal and ethical aspects. - Investigate fires, predict their occurrence and development, evaluate the effectiveness of the fire safety system at the appropriate level, the risks of fires and their consequences. - Evaluate construction projects and urban planning projects for compliance with fire safety requirements and propose the necessary engineering and technical measures to ensure fire safety. - Develop norms and rules of fire safety, instructions on compliance with fire safety and actions in case of fire. - Perform tests: substances, building materials, electrical and cable products to determine the indicators and characteristics of fire hazard; fire protection systems, fire-fighting equipment. - Analyze, evaluate fire and emergency rescue equipment, fire-fighting equipment and provide recommendations for their optimal choice. - Perform and substantiate technical and economic calculations of measures to improve fire safety. - Assess the state of fire safety of facilities, buildings and structures, compliance of engineering systems and systems of active and passive fire protection with fire safety requirements, create models of new systems. - Select and apply effective research methods and tools. - Calculate, design, research market trends, conduct marketing analysis, launch new products in the field of fire safety.
- Apply modern information and communication technologies, specialized software in the field of professional activity. - Communicate in a foreign language in scientific, industrial and social spheres of activity. Have the skills of public speaking, discussions, training sessions. - Convey professional knowledge, own substantiations and conclusions to specialists of fire and rescue formations and the general public. - Search for information in various sources to solve problems in the field of fire safety.
