Characteristics of the educational program: The educational and professional training program is based on the known positions and results of modern scientific research in geophysics, geology, geodesy, cartography, geodynamics, meteorology and climatology and focuses on current specialization, within which possible further professional and academic career. The program objective is to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills, sufficient to successfully perform their professional duties specialty 103 "Earth Sciences" with the educational program "Space monitoring of the Earth" and prepare students for future employment in the chosen specialty. Earth sciences specialists are able to solve complex problems and specialized practical problems during professional work in the field of natural sciences or learning process, which provides application of the theoretical and practical knowledge, relevant professional methods, technologies and systems and have the necessary expertise in the field of surveying, satellite and navigation equipment, create a base of geo-data for a variety of geoinformation systems. Laboratory classes are conducted using modern surveying and mapping equipment and software. During the research practice, students perform fieldwork according to the specialization, acquire skills for processing of geodetic measurements, acquainted with geodesic company’s structures, gain practical material for the implementation of the master qualifying work, and so on. The total amount of educational and professional program - 90 ECTS credits, including general training cycle - 6 credits, the cycle of professional training - 84 credits.
Програмні результати навчання: - to analyze the features of natural and anthropogenic systems and objects of the Earth's geosphere; - to apply their knowledge to identify and solve problematic issues and make sound decisions in Earth Sciences; - be able to communicate with specialists and experts of different levels of other knowledge fields, including in the international context, in a global information environment; - to develop, manage and control projects in Earth Sciences, evaluate and ensure the quality of work; - to plan and carry out scientific experiments, write scientific works by profession; - be able to carry out an environmental assessment, audit, licensing, and certification of the use of natural resources, predict the development of ecological, technological, economic and social consequences on individual objects of nature management; - to know modern methods of Earth research and its geosphere and be able to apply them in production and research activities; - to know the basic principles of enterprises management in the sphere nature management, their organization, production and organizational structure of management; - to develop and implement mechanisms of territorial management, geoplanning, monitor regional development, and make plans and programs; - to solve practical problems of Earth Sciences (specialization) using theories, principles and methods of different specialities in the field of natural science; - to use modern methods of modelling and processing of geoinformation in carrying out innovation activity; - independently plan the performance of an innovative task and formulate conclusions by its results; - to evaluate the ecological and economic impact on the environment in the implementation of engineering measures and to design environmental measures.

Work placement(s): An important aspect of training in the Earth Sciences is Research practice on the topic of master’s qualification work, which is held on survey companies, departmental offices of engineering profile.
