Specific arrangements for recognition of prior learning: Provided that the previous level was obtained in another country, nostrification is required, which is carried out by the Lviv Polytechnic.
Characteristics of the educational program: Educational and professional training program is based on the known positions and results of modern scientific research in engineering geodesy, cartography, land and realty rating, GIS, photogrammetry and remote sensing, satellite geodesy, and oriented to the future professional and scientific carrier. Program objective is to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills, sufficient to successfully perform their professional duties specialty 193 Geodesy and Land management on specialization of Geospatial modeling and prepare students for future employment in the chosen specialty. Provide the knowledge for the professional activities with the possible continuation of the study to get higher level of the qualification skill. Training process is organized in the form of lectures, laboratory and practical training, coursework, research work, self-work and implementation of master's thesis. Modern laboratories will be used for the proper formation of the educational process at the departments of the Institute of Geodesy. An obligatory research practice should be done in the frame of master’s degree qualification project, according to the specialization, and all students should complete both: practical and theoretical research.
Програмні результати навчання: - the ability to effectively select appropriate methods for solving tasks in the field of geospatial modeling; - to apply knowledge on the collection, processing and visualization of graphical and attributive information in GIS, the organization and operation of banks and databases of cartographic data, 3-D simulation; - to carry out mathematical and statistical processing of the results of scientific and applied activities; - to plan and complete scientific research, use the resulting competencies to prepare and execute a research plan in accordance with the specified timeframe; - to apply knowledge of technical characteristics, structural features, designation and operating rules of equipment for solving technical problems in geodesy and land management; - to integrate knowledge and understanding for identification, formulation and resolution of professional tasks, using known methods; - to carry out relevant experimental studies using research skills in professional subjects; - to use information resources to apply high standards of text analysis; - to formulate and refine an important research task, to solve it, to collect the necessary information and to formulate conclusions that can be protected in the scientific context; - to evaluate obtained results and to defend the decisions reasonably; - the ability to use a variety of methods, including information technology, for effective communication at the professional and social levels; - ability to communicate their own substantiated conclusions and knowledge to specialists, non-professionals and learners.
