Characteristics of the educational program: Educational and professional training program is based on the known positions and results of modern scientific research in engineering geodesy, cartography, land and realty rating, GIS, photogrammetry and remote sensing, satellite geodesy, and oriented to the future professional and scientific carrier. Program objective is to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills, sufficient to successfully perform their professional duties specialty 193 Geodesy and Land management on specialization of Photogrammetry and remote sensing and prepare students for future employment in the chosen specialty. Provide the knowledge for the professional activities with the possible continuation of the study to get higher level of the qualification skill. Training process is organized in the form of lectures, laboratory and practical training, coursework, research work, self-work and implementation of master's thesis. Modern laboratories will be used for the proper formation of the educational process at the departments of the Institute of Geodesy. An obligatory practice should be done in the frame of master’s degree qualification project, according to the specialization. Encouraging students to use opportunities of abroad studies to prepare master's thesis. The total amount of educational and professional program - 90 ECTS credits, including general training cycle: - 6 cr., cycle of professional training - 84 cr.
Gained competence: - knowledge of scientific concepts, theories and techniques necessary to understand the principles of functionality of modern specialized photogrammetric software and hardware; - the ability to demonstrate deep knowledge and skills when conducting experiments, data collecting, modeling and analysis of the results, to think systematically and to apply creativity for the formation of innovative ideas in geodesy and land management; - knowledge of theories of field and aerospace surveing, remote sensing and laser scanning data processing for creating and updating cartographic materials and preparing them for printing; - the ability to apply methods for collecting, analysis and structuring information for scientific researches in photogrammetry and remote sensing.
- to implement relevant experimental researches using research skills in professional fields; - to use the standardized terminology and expressions in the field of photogrammetry and remote sensing; - digital image processing using environments of special software applications; - creating and designing software applications for their operation as a part of the specialized photogrammetric software; - organization of modern methods of researches for processing geodata and evaluation of software effectiveness; - the ability to collect, store, storage, processing and analyzing geospatial and topographical data; - maintenance and management of information software of topographic and geodetic, mapping, land evaluation and photogrammetric works; - application of photogrammetric methods for creation of topographic plans, frontal plans and solution of applied problems.

Work placement(s): An important aspect of master’s training of Geodesy and Land Management is the practice by the topic of master's thesis, which takes place in the laboratory of the Institute of Geodesy, surveing companies and departmental offices of engineering profile

Occupational profiles of graduates: Performs planning of aerial survey works, organizes and performs aerial, laser scanning works. Analyzes and processes remote sensing data. Develops specialized applications to improve photogrammetric software. Performs project management. Conducts scientific researches in the field of photogrammetry and remote sensing, geomatics and land management. Can engage in teaching in higher education institutions, conduct advanced training of specialists of industrial sphere, manage scientific projects.

Other program features: Some semantic modules can be taught in English; it is possible academic mobility and students exchange in the framework of international projects/grants, on the base of bilateral agreements between Lviv Polytechnic National University and educational Institutions of partner countries; there are opportunity to study abroad for the preparation of master's thesis (double Master degree).
