Characteristics of the educational program: Object: a person - the preservation of his life, health and ability to work in the labor process, in an emergency;
Business entity - an industrial, agricultural or transport facility, a dangerous natural phenomenon or production process that under certain circumstances may create a real threat of an accident, emergency; territory of the country, public and private, property - their protection and preservation in case of threat and emergency.
Emphasis on the development of abilities, skills and abilities to solve specialized tasks on labor protection,
ensuring a safe working environment and labor process.
The main focus of the program is to gain knowledge of modern methods of solving a set of problems for the preservation of life, health and ability to work during work in various professional fields; monitoring and coordination of the activities of the relevant management bodies of the enterprise (object), which implement the tasks of labor protection; implementation of mechanisms to ensure healthy and safe working conditions, preventive activities against accidents, occupational diseases and accidents at work using the methods of risk-oriented approach.
Professional orientation: labor protection in the service sector and IT industry; labor protection in the production sphere.
Програмні результати навчання: Knowledge: ЗС 1. Analyze issues of history, facts, problems and trends in the development of Ukrainian culture in their dialectical relationship.
ЗС 2. To have a culture of thinking, technology of mastering social experience at the level necessary for professional activity.
ЗС 3. Analyze social phenomena and processes at the level necessary for professional activity, know the legal framework for civil protection, labor protection, regulatory issues of measures in the field of civil protection and man-made safety of objects and territories.
ЗС 4. Apply the acquired knowledge of the legal basis of civil protection, labor protection in practice.
ЗС 5. Develop texts and documents on professional activities, communicate in the Ukrainian professional language; read and understand professional foreign language literature, using it in social and professional spheres; demonstrate a culture of thinking and demonstrate skills in organizing cultural dialogue at the level required for professional activities.
ЗС 6. Explain the processes of influence of harmful and dangerous factors that occur in the event of a dangerous event; apply theories of protection of the population, territory and environment from the damaging factors of sources of emergencies, necessary for the professional activity of knowledge of mathematical and natural sciences.
ЗС 7. Choose the best measures and tools aimed at reducing occupational risk, protecting the population, preventing emergencies.
ЗС 8. Know the types of automated early warning and alert systems, general specifications and requirements for the use of emergency management, communication and notification systems.
ЗС 9. Know the properties of combustible substances and materials, the mechanism of combustion and explosion.
Skills: УМ 1. To provide ecologically balanced activity, the necessary level of individual safety and mental health in case of typical dangerous events.
УМ 2. Use modern information technologies, database management systems and standard application packages in professional activities.
УМ 3.Develop and use technical documentation, in particular with the use of modern information technologies.
УМ 4. Identify physical, chemical, biological and psychophysiological harmful, production factors and analyze the safety of production equipment.
УМ 5. Determine the technical condition of external and internal engineering networks and structures to assess its compliance with the requirements of civil protection and man-made safety.
УМ 6. Classify substances, materials, products, processes, services and economic entities according to their degree of danger.
УМ 7. Identify hazards and their possible sources, assess the likelihood of dangerous events and their consequences.
УМ 8. Explain the nomenclature, classification and parameters of the impact factors of sources of man-made and natural emergencies and the results of their effects.
УМ 9. Choose the best methods and apply means of protection against the effects of negative factors of chemical, biological and radiation origin.
УМ 10. Evaluate technical indicators and determine the state of emergency rescue equipment, communications, equipment and facilities.
УМ 11. Analyze and substantiate engineering and organizational measures for civil protection, man-made and industrial safety at facilities and territories.
УМ 12. Explain the requirements for security and protection of economic entities, regulations and requirements for security, identification, certification and maintenance of registers of high-risk and potentially dangerous objects.
УМ 13. Apply civil protection measures: to inform and inform the population; regarding the shelter of the population in protective structures of civil defense; regarding the evacuation of the population from the emergency zone and the livelihood of the evacuated population to their safe places.
УМ 14. Provide safe operation of the gas and smoke protection service, operation of sets of personal protective equipment for rescuers.
УМ 15. Organize and conduct training of the population to act in emergency situations, classes with the personnel of the unit; to bring to specialists and non-specialists information, ideas, problems, solutions and own experience in the field of professional activity.
УМ 16. Explain the conceptual basis of monitoring protected objects and know the automatic systems, devices and devices designed to monitor and control the condition of the monitored object, measure its parameters and store information about its condition.
УМ 17. Demonstrate the ability to carry out measures to eliminate emergencies and their consequences, rescue and other urgent work.
Academic mobility: Based on bilateral agreements between Lviv Polytechnic National University and other universities of Ukraine, as well as with higher education institutions of partner countries.

Other program features: The program provides two lines of professional training:
Line 1. Occupational safety in the service sector and IT industry
Provides for the study of basic disciplines, knowledge of which is to study safe working conditions, human life, health and efficiency of people working in the field of health care, education, trade, catering, IT industry and facilities livelihood of the population.
Line 2. Labor protection in the production sphere
It involves the study of basic disciplines, knowledge of which is necessary to create safe working conditions in the field of material production, related to the operation of production equipment, machinery and equipment, man-made safety, as well as emergency response and response.
Some courses can be taught in English. Academic mobility for educational and internship programs in European countries is possible.
