Gained competence: • special knowledge in certain areas of photonics (materials engineering, micro and nanotechnology, information technology, biomedical engineering) to solve the specific problems, conducting experiments in the field of photonics; • analysis and understanding of modern photonic processes; • calculations and assessment of the possible effects and consequences; • solid understanding of and a firm base of knowledge in physical principles of optics and light-matter interaction, concepts and applications of the optical metrology, comprehensive knowledge in fields of a laser and optoelectronics, and knowledge of the current development trends and opportunities within the academic area of photonics technology; • high level of technical knowledge in subjects relevant to photonics and associated technologies, ability to deal with a problem of advanced research in photonics from start to finish; • understanding and description of optical phenomena mathematically to interpret the theoretical predictions in terms of experimental relevance, to apply principles of mathematical physics to technical applications; • understanding of the internal interaction between the various engineering domains and other competencies in connection with solving specific engineering problems and application of systems-engineering approaches to address complex and multi-disciplinary actual-world engineering problems; • knowledge about sustainability aspects, innovation and entrepreneurship and understanding of the photonics engineering as an economic and business activity considering, among others, social and ethical aspects; • ability of analysis and evaluate tasks in field of photonics from technical point of view, ability solving them based on own experience of world research and development in this field.
• apply the acquired knowledge with the optics/photonics and problem-solving ability in these fields in its theoretical, experimental and technological aspects; • develop methods and systems of measurement and diagnostics, introduce methodologies, formulate relevant qualitative and quantitative models and use them to construct optimal solutions, carry out experimental measurements in the field of photonics; • apply the acquired knowledge for research in academic laboratories and research institutes, in high-technology photonics-related companies; • participate in research work, demonstration of learning skills that allow you to continue your training in the field of photonics individually and independently; • development of new photonic products in industry and technical support products or services; • possibility technical marketing and sales of photonics production.
