Characteristics of the educational program: The purpose of the educational program: to provide theoretical knowledge and practical abilities and skills for successful performance in the area related to a specialty "Biotechnical and Medical Devices and Systems"
Програмні результати навчання: Knowledge: - fundamentals of biotechnological diagnostics and therapeutic systems modelling; - methods for medical electronic device reliability evaluation; - fundamentals of medical devices computer-aided design; - medical data collection processing and security methods and tools; - evaluation of patent protection level of engineering solutions. Abilities: - modelling of biotechnological diagnostic and therapeutic systems; - medical devices computer-aided design; - development of technological preproduction and manufacturing processes system; - medical devices reliability testing; - development of medical data collection, processing and information security systems. Communication: - Understanding at fundamental level the conceptual and technological problems which are present in living systems while not encountered in physical systems, basic knowledge of engineering approaches to understanding the functioning of living systems; - An ability to identify and analyze a problem from both an engineering and biological perspective, to integrate the knowledge core of traditional engineering disciplines and modern biology to solve problems encountered in living systems; to anticipate the special difficulties in working with living systems and to evaluate a wide range of possible approaches to solutions; - The research skills and the ability to search and analyze information from different sources including those in English or other foreign languages; an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data, including data concerning living organism structure and operation; - An ability to identify, classify and describe system and component operation using analytical and simulation methods; to model selected biological processes and physiological systems, their interaction with physical impacts (signals) of different nature as well as to model a biotechnical system in tote. Autonomy and responsibility -To be adaptable to new situations and make decisions; - To be responsible for the work to be done and to achieve the goals set, while respecting the requirements of professional ethics; -To demonstrate an understanding of and apply the principles of occupational health and safety in the operation of biomedical equipment. - To recognize the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen acquired and new professional knowledge
