Gained competence: - the approaches, models and methods for structural design of telecommunication networks; - the basics of the theory of telecommunication systems and networks reliability, ways and means of increasing the reliability of telecommunication systems and networks; - the methods of estimating the reliability of telecommunication systems and networks, modern software tools for the reliability of telecommunication systems and networks analysis; - communication organization schemes in telecommunication systems and networks using basic technologies; - the principles of construction and architecture of telecommunication access networks, principles of construction of their constituent parts; - the principles of planning and design of transport telecommunication networks and their technologies; - the concept design, functional architecture, principal design, functioning and management principles, features of providing the new generation telecommunication systems and networks; - the features of the convergence and integration processes in modern telecommunication networks.
- ability to combine the results of system design with the engineering design of telecommunication networks, to use the specialized software to solve the tasks of system design of telecommunication systems and networks; - ability to carry out the analysis and choose strategies of technical service and repair of telecommunication systems and networks, to develop and apply hardware and software facilities of control and diagnostics of telecommunication systems and networks; - ability to apply acquired knowledges of technologies and protocols of telecommunication networks; - ability to carry out an objective estimation of signals transmission quality in transport telecommunication networks; - ability to apply the acquired knowledges to set up an access to the wired or wireless telecommunication access network using available equipment; - ability to written and oral communication in Ukrainian and in, at least, one of the most common European languages.
- understanding of the subject area and the specialty, as well as the ability to apply knowledge in practice; - ability to search and analyze information from different sources, generate new ideas, develop a creative approach; - acquire a flexible way of thinking that makes it possible to understand and solve problems and tasks while maintaining a critical attitude towards established scientific concepts; - ability to evaluate technical indicators and expediency of projects realization, evaluate the economic feasibility of the development, modernization, production, implementation and operation of telecommunication facilities, systems and networks.
