Learning outcomes: know the computer aided design methods of plan, profile, subgrade, pavements, engineering structures, road intersections and interchanges
• be able to design subgrade in various difficult conditions and all the highway elements
• be able to design and calculate bridges, intersections and interchanges
• be able to design roads be means of CAD CREDO

Summary of the subject: Basic position of automated design of highways. Aided design methods of plan, profile, x-sections, subgrades, pavements, engineering structures, road intersections and interchanges; design solutions evaluation methods.
Assessment methods and criteria: • oral interviews, control work (30%)
• final control (70% exam)

Learning outcomes: • to know the principles of the technical-economic justification of all elements of the road
based on the comprehensive consideration of its national economic importance, environmental conditions and transport safety;
• to be able to design a highway in a plan and in the profile and x-profiles by means of CAD CREDO;
• to be able to ensure the strength and stability of the substrate;
• to be able to calculate the volume of soil excavation by means of CAD CREDO.

Summary of the subject: Plan of the route’s options on the map. Profile of the main option in the scales: horizontal 1: 5000, vertical 1:500, scale of the soil 1:50. Working transversal profiles in the scale of 1: 100.
Content of the explanatory note.
1. Characteristics of natural conditions of the designing area.
2. Technical standards for the road design of the specified category according to DBN V.2.3-4-2015.
3. Table of the straight, circular and transitional curves for all route options with cheking.
4. Description the route options, comparison and selection of the core.
5. Determination the main working point.
6. Description the profile of the main option.
7. Description the cross sections of the subgrade.
8. Calculation the volume of soil excavation.
