Мета вивчення дисципліни: Creation of favorable conditions for the personal development of the personality of students in the process of forming an active civic position and a sense of responsibility in society. The course has the potential to become a factor in the reconciliation of different models of historical memory, a means of constructive social dialogue about past and present problems of social development, integration and consolidation of Ukrainian society. This discipline stimulates students' development of critical thinking and analysis and adequate evaluation of historical and cultural information, motivation and self-identification of the individual based on knowledge of the history, cultural and scientific heritage of society.
Завдання: General competences: the formation of an active civic position based on the awareness of historical phenomena and cultural phenomena in the national and European context; mastering the skills and methods of critical information analysis; constructive social interaction based on sustainable value orientations. Professional competences: the ability to evaluate, interpret and critically analyze historical facts and cause-and-effect relationships between them; taking into account the processes of the socio-political history of Ukraine, legal foundations and ethical norms in industrial or social activities; the orientation of the individual to cultural values ??and meanings, which constitutes the value-motivating basis of the student's culture.
Learning outcomes: Know: historical experience, cultural traditions of Ukraine and scientific progress in the European context, which enables the formation of a holistic view of the socio-cultural reality and the place of man in it; connections between historical events remote in time and modern human actions; dynamic experience of historical and cultural practices of a person as ways of self-realization; the system of historical and cultural knowledge, which motivates the humanistic orientation of the culture of the individual; to know different cultural and religious sources of human diversity. Be able: critically analyze phenomena, facts, alternatives of social development and various sources of information, freedom of choice and evaluation of past events and persons on the basis of universal values; the ability to communicate with others and conduct dialogue; constructive dialogue skills (teamwork, cooperative learning, empathic communication, peaceful conflict resolution, confidence development, etc.); the ability to explore different cultural practices, consider controversial issues; personal reflection, the involvement of students in the experience of emotional and value attitudes towards the world and people in it, which determines the nature of the formation of value orientations of future specialists.
Required prior and related subjects: Introduction to the profession. History of water engineering.
Summary of the subject: In the context of modern integration processes in Ukrainian society, the study by students of the basic areas of the Lviv Polytechnic National University of the academic discipline "History of Statehood, Science and Culture of Ukraine" provides for their acquisition of civic and socio-cultural competence as an integrative quality of worldview self-determination of an individual, ensuring their professional and civic self-realization in modern society.Problems of the history of science and technical education are an important component of the course, which provides an opportunity for future specialists to familiarize themselves with the achievements of past generations for the harmonious development of society in the context of the "nature-man-technology" system. Scientific and technical achievements have a unique potential to influence the pace of human development, contribute to the processes of transformation of society, stimulate socio-economic changes that determine the vector of development of civilization. Trained specialists have the opportunity to gain a permanent sense of belonging to the national community, learn to make independent decisions, make informed choices, and forecast the development of science and society in the future.
Опис: Territory, composition and identity of the population of Ukrainian lands in historical retrospect The Genesis of Ukrainian Statemaking in the Middle Ages and Early Modern Time Controversial issues of Ukrainian state-building. Man and resistance to totalitarian regimes in the twentieth century. Ukrainian lands as part of the European multicultural space in the X-XIX centuries. Cultural Processes in the Ukrainian Lands in the New Age. The symbolic space of the city and its culture. History of science and technical education in Ukrainian lands.
Assessment methods and criteria: 100-point rating: current control - 45 points (polls, presentations, oral and written answers; includingna, to choose from, creative work "History of my family" - 10 points); final control - 55 points (exam).

Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems;49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
