Describe the structure of professional activities, explain their purpose, principles and modes of operation. PH7. Perform engineering calculations of soil foundations and structures of objects of professional activity. PH8. Solve qualitative and quantitative tasks on water extraction, preparation and distribution, wastewater treatment and drainage.

Summary of the subject: Classification of hydraulic structures. Hydraulic systems. Features and conditions of hydraulic structures. Load and performance of forces in the hydraulic structures. Dams of local building materials. Filtration calculations of ground dams. Stability of the slope of the dam. Drainage elements dams. Subsidence of the body and the foundations of the dam. Concrete and low-concrete dam. Filtration calculations for the base of the dam. Culverts and hydropower facilities. Vodovypuskni structures and their hydraulic calculations. Channels and structures. Engineering calculations of hydraulic structures and their elements. Hydro mechanical equipment.
Assessment methods and criteria: • current oral examination, laboratory works reports (30%) • final control (exam): written-oral form (70%)

Summary of the subject: Siting and layout of hydrosystem. Choosing of alignment of hydrosystem. Determination of the main dimensions of the cross section of dam. Definition mark the crest of the dam. Calculation of mounting upland slope of the dam. Fastening of prefabricated concrete slabs. Mounting slope of the bottom. Drainage equipment. Filtration calculation of dam. Calculation of the dams filtration strength. Calculation of tower spillway.
