Мета вивчення дисципліни: Familiarization of students with methods and equipment for researching various aspects of the actual operation of elements of building materials, structures, as well as engineering networks and buildings and structures in general
Завдання: The study of an academic discipline involves the formation and development of students' competencies: Integral competence: The ability to solve problems of a research and/or innovative nature in the field of construction and civil engineering; General competence: ZK2. Ability to conduct research at an appropriate level Special professional competences: SK 02. The ability to critically analyze modern problems in the field of construction and civil engineering to solve complex problems of professional activity. SK 08. The ability to clearly and unambiguously convey one's own knowledge, conclusions and arguments to specialists and non-specialists in the construction industry.
Learning outcomes: PH01. Design buildings and structures (according to specialization), including using computer design software systems, in order to ensure their reliability and durability, making rational design and technical decisions, technical and economic justification, taking into account the features of the construction object, determining optimal mode of its functioning and implementation of resource and energy saving measures. PH05. Communicate freely in the state language orally and in writing to discuss professional problems and results of activities in the field of architecture and construction. PH10. Ability to carry out commercial and economic activities of intellectual property protection in the field of architecture and construction. PH11. Manage complex, unpredictable construction processes that require new strategic approaches. ЗН1. Specialized conceptual knowledge that includes current scientific achievements in the field of professional activity or field of knowledge and is the basis for original thinking and conducting research. Summary of the subject: As a result of studying the discipline, students will get acquainted with the peculiarities of conducting scientific activities, with methods and equipment for researching various aspects of the real work of elements of buildings and structures, as well as modern building materials and products. Students will gain practical skills in finding the necessary scientific and regulatory literature, conducting scientific research on the example of determining individual indicators of building materials, foundations and elements of buildings and structures.

Assessment methods and criteria: The assessment of the student's current control is based on the result of successful performance and defense of laboratory work. The form of semester control is an exam.

Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
