Summary of the subject: Theoretical basis of construction of roadbed. Ground cutting and ramming. Construction of roadbed under special conditions: in swamps, in rocky soils, with the means of hydro mechanization, in areas of loose sand and permafrost, in saline soils. The technology of construction of asphalt concrete paving of hot, warm and cold mixtures. Control of work quality. The peculiarities of building road paving at bulk temperature. Emulsion technology of road construction. Construction of monolithic and prefabricated pavement. Technology of construction of pavement. The classification of pavement. Technology of works when constructing pavement of cobblestones, coarsely chopped blocks and mosaic pavement.
Assessment methods and criteria: • oral examination, current control at practical classes (30%); • summary control (70%, examination event, exam): oral-written form (70%).

Learning outcomes: • to know the main technological methods while constructing roadbed in difficult geological conditions and while building pavements of capital type in different climate conditions; • to know how to carry out the alignment while constructing roadbed and building pavements; • to know how to calculate the volume of road construction materials; • to know how to choose special mechanized teams for fulfilling road construction works.

Summary of the subject: Designing longitudinal profile of road. Creating the schedule of volumes and distribution of ground masses. Building a curve of volumes. Choosing the vehicles and mechanisms for building roadbed. Technological map of construction of roadbed with hourly schedule of work of vehicles. The content of explanatory note: 1. Introduction 2. Geophysical conditions of the region for building. 3. The technology of roadbed construction (preparing works, calculation of relative sealing coefficient, distribution of ground masses, curve of volumes) 4. The control of the quality of roadbed construction. 5. The technology of pavement construction (main road construction works and requirements to them, calculation of materials consumption, choosing vehicles and mechanisms, the sequence and work instructions) 6. Choosing the specialized team. 7. The control of quality of the pavement construction.
