Learning outcomes: PH1 (PRN 1. Possession of sufficient knowledge in areas related to ADA disciplines, which will allow to critically analyze the situation and identify key trends in the industry). RN2 (PRN 4. Deepening knowledge of specialization "Roads and airfields": design and survey of roads; design of street and road network of settlements; design of airfields; design of production facilities; modern road construction materials and technologies. PH3 (PRN 7. Knowledge of the basics of economics and project management in the field of design, construction and operation of roads and airfields.). PH4 (PRN 8. Acquisition of adequate knowledge and understanding related to the specialization "Roads and airfields", the scale of which will be sufficient to successfully organize and conduct research in the design, construction and operation of ADA, to form and represent the results of professional activities). PH5 (PRNC 3. Systematically think and apply creative abilities to the formation of fundamentally new ideas in the field of design, construction and reconstruction of roads and engineering facilities on them). PH6 (PRNC 5. Calculate, design, study market trends in the road industry, conduct marketing analysis, bring new products to market). PH7 (PRNC 6. Search for information in various sources to solve problems in the design, construction, operation of roads and airfields and traffic organization). RN8 (PRNC 8) Carry out relevant research and apply research skills in the design, construction and operation of roads and airfields using the facilities of the production base of road construction. PH9 (PRNC 9. Critically evaluate the results of activities and reasoned defense of decisions.). PH10 (AiV 3. Ability to treat the work responsibly, make decisions independently, achieve the goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics). PH11 (AiV 4. Ability to demonstrate understanding of basic environmental principles, labor protection and safety and their application).

Summary of the subject: Basic position of automated design of highways. Aided design methods of plan, profile, x-sections, subgrades, pavements, engineering structures, road intersections and interchanges; design solutions evaluation methods.
Assessment methods and criteria: • oral interviews, control work (30%) • final control (70% exam)

Summary of the subject: Plan of the route’s options on the map. Profile of the main option in the scales: horizontal 1: 5000, vertical 1:500, scale of the soil 1:50. Working transversal profiles in the scale of 1: 100. Content of the explanatory note. 1. Characteristics of natural conditions of the designing area. 2. Technical standards for the road design of the specified category according to DBN V.2.3-4-2015. 3. Table of the straight, circular and transitional curves for all route options with cheking. 4. Description the route options, comparison and selection of the core. 5. Determination the main working point. 6. Description the profile of the main option. 7. Description the cross sections of the subgrade. 8. Calculation the volume of soil excavation.
