Мета вивчення дисципліни: The goal of studying the discipline is the formation of competences in young scientists based on scientific professional knowledge and skills in the field of education and pedagogy, the ability to transform knowledge necessary for active scientific activity, familiarization with the theoretical and methodological foundations of pedagogical research, acquisition of elements of professional-pedagogical and research competence, as well as the organization of research work within the framework of dissertation research and familiarization of students with modern mathematical methods of checking the reliability of the obtained results.
Завдання: The study of an educational discipline involves the formation of competencies in students of education: integral competence: the ability to produce innovative scientific ideas, to master the methodology of scientific and pedagogical activity, to solve complex problems in the process of innovative research and professional activity, to conduct original scientific research in the professional field at the international and national level; professional competences: FC 2: the ability to plan, organize and carry out experimental pedagogical research, use mathematical methods to check the reliability of the obtained results, adequately evaluate and forecast the results of scientific and pedagogical research.
Learning outcomes: As a result of studying the educational discipline "Pedagogical Experiment and Methods of Mathematical Statistics", the student must be able to demonstrate program learning results that are correlated with the competencies of the educational and scientific program of training for the Doctor of Philosophy: Skill 6: plan, implement and adjust a consistent process of thorough scientific research with due academic integrity; 8: demonstrate the skills of independent performance of scientific research, flexible thinking, openness to new knowledge, evaluate the results of autonomous work and bear responsibility for personal professional development and training of others

Summary of the subject: Within the scope of the discipline, questions about the organization of pedagogical experimental research are considered; empirical method of cognition as a special field of activity; the general methodology of scientific research and its levels; processes of functioning of science and scientific knowledge; methodological approaches and principles of experimental pedagogical research; the conceptual apparatus of experimental research, the general methodology and methods, as well as the analysis and design of the results of the pedagogical experiment; methodological features of the types and elements of pedagogical research, which contribute to the strengthening of methodological orientation and the formation of a scientific worldview, the increase of the level of methodological culture of graduate students, the formation of a system of mathematical knowledge, which make up the methodological basis for checking the results of a pedagogical experiment.

Analysis and synthesis of pedagogical phenomena and processes. Induction and deduction. Comparison. Classification. Generalization. Abstraction. Concretization. Method of pedagogical observation. Conversation method (interview). Questionnaire method (open, closed, semi-open, polar). The method of studying documentation. Rating method. The method of generalization of independent characteristics. Method of psychological and pedagogical testing. Method of sociometry. A method of analyzing the results of the activities of participants in the educational process. Registration method. Topic 3. Planning and conducting experimental pedagogical research. Provisions, principles, approaches. Program and method of conducting the experiment. Registration method. Ranking method. Modeling method. Measurement method. Topic 4. Mathematical methods in pedagogical research. General and selective populations. Statistical distribution of the sample. Polygon and histogram of frequencies. Numerical characteristics of the statistical distribution of the sample. Topic 5. Statistical distribution series. The concept of distribution series and their types. Forms of distribution series and their characteristics. Topic 6. Statistical indicators. Types of statistical indicators. Absolute statistical values. Relative statistical values. Average values and methods of their calculation. Structural averages. Topic 7. Statistical methods of studying relationships. Basics of variance analysis. General methods of studying relationships. Correlation and regression methods of relationship analysis. Non-linear dependencies. Multivariate analysis. Non-parametric indicators of connection tightness.
Assessment methods and criteria: Current control of practical classes is carried out in order to identify the readiness for classes of a higher education applicant of the third educational and scientific level of the doctor of philosophy in the following forms: selective oral survey at the beginning of the lesson; frontal standardized survey on cards, tests for 5–10 minutes; individual verification of practical works; evaluation of the higher education student's activity during classes, submitted proposals, original solutions, clarifications and definitions, additions to previous answers, etc. Control questions are divided into: test tasks - choose the correct answers; problem tasks – creation of problematic situations; questions-replies - to identify cause-and-effect relationships; situational tasks – to determine the answer according to a certain situation; issues of a reproductive nature - determination of practical significance; interactive quiz and game tasks. The final control is carried out based on the results of the current control and passing the exam.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: The educational discipline "Pedagogical experiment and methods of mathematical statistics" involves the study of approaches to the formulation of scientific novelty and the practical significance of research results; planning, organizing and conducting research; understanding of modern research strategies and innovative paradigms of pedagogical experiment; basics of theoretical and empirical methods of pedagogical research; tools for visualization of research results and their presentation; planning and conducting experimental pedagogical research, its provisions, principles, approaches; programs and methods of conducting experiments; use of registration, ranking, modeling and measurement methods; use of statistical distribution series, indicators and statistical methods of studying relationships. Part of the educational material is given for independent study. Independent work involves the processing of literary sources, lecture material, the performance of tasks presented in the methodological recommendations for independent work, work in a virtual learning environment, a mandatory element of which is the performance of test tasks for each topic, preparation for practical classes, performance of tasks provided methodical recommendations for practical classes, as well as the implementation of an individual scientific and research task.
