Learning outcomes: Know the basics of intermolecular interactions, to be able to apply the laws of thermodynamics to disperse systems and processes of aggregation and dispersion. Know the properties of disperse systems and solutions of surfactants and macromolecular compounds. Be able to use the methods of colloidal chemistry to study the physical and chemical processes that occur at the interface; solve application problems on the profile of the profession.

Summary of the subject: Specificity state of matter at the interface. Disperse systems, methods of preparation and purification. Molecular-kinetic and optical properties of disperse systems. Adhesion, cohesion, wetting, spreading. Theories adsorption. Adsorption of surfactants. Ionic adsorption. Electric double layer: mechanisms of formation, the theory of the structure. Stern theory. Effect of electrolytes on electric double layer. Electrokinetic phenomena. Aggregation stability of disperse systems. Surfactants. The main representatives of disperse systems.
