Learning outcomes: know:• provisions of the error and the uncertainty approach of the measurement result, methods of uncertainty estimation; • classification of errors (basic and additional; random, methodical systematic, etc.) • methods of minimizing errors; • methods of eliminating systematic components of errors: • sample formation; be able to: • analyze the impact factors; • compute an uncertainty budget for a measurement; • critically evaluate the obtained results and defend the maden decisions
Required prior and related subjects: • Management of research projects; • Technology of writing and submitting the scientific papers and dissertations.
Summary of the subject: Estimation of errors and uncertainty and presentation of the measurement result according to the ISO guiding document. Uncertainty, its sources and components. Uncertainty assessment. Sources of errors and methods of analysis of their impact. Methods of checking measuring instruments. Error rationing and verification procedures. Special methods of eliminating systematic components of errors. Formation of samples of the received results. Instrumental components of uncertainty. Components of uncertainty due to external factors. Monte Carlo method for modeling uncertainty.
Assessment methods and criteria: Current control: (oral examination, control measures (30%)) Final control (70% of exam): written-oral form
