Summary of the subject: Features of genome organization prokaryotic organisms. Genetic apparatus of eukaryotic microorganisms. The structure of the genome of the yeast. Autonomous genetic elements in prokaryotes. Migrating genetic elements. IS-elements. Transposons. Conjugatic transposons. The mechanisms of replication, repairation and expression of the genome. Regulation of replication, transcription and translation in prokaryotes. Variability in prokaryotes. Mutagenesis. The essence of transformation, conjugation and transduction. The genetics of viruses. The structure and function of viral genomes. Replication, transcription and translation of viral genomes. Variability in viral genomes. Bacteriophages. Principles of construcnion of industrial microorganisms using methods of cellular and genetic engineering.
