Required prior and related subjects: Research methods in the technology of environmental protection from pollution
Methodology of scientific research in the field of environmental protection technologies
Summary of the subject: The discipline "Environmental pollution monitoring" provides the study of the basic provisions of environmental monitoring, the basics of monitoring organization by components of the biosphere, as well as such tasks of environmental monitoring as assessment and analysis of climatic factors of the environment, observation of the state and quality of the components of the environment - atmospheric air and soil, surface and underground water, highlighting the principles of operation of devices for measuring environmental parameters and its pollution, as well as the possibility of using modern methods, in particular automated and remote methods for environmental monitoring.
In the process of studying the discipline, the graduate student must master: information and analytical technologies of environmental monitoring; methods of obtaining information on the current state of various components of the environment: surface, underground, drinking water, atmospheric air, soils, natural resources; means of comprehensive provision of information on qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the environment, necessary for control and management of the quality of objects, phenomena and processes of the environment.
The discipline ensures the formation of theoretical and practical knowledge, the development of professional needs regarding the need to improve the ecological state of the country in accordance with the constitutional right of the population to a clean environment through: the creation of a system of ecological monitoring of man-made and nature-protected territories and its recognition as a mandatory component of the sustainable development of the state; study and comparison of environmental quality parameters, which contributes to the selection of optimal methods of monitoring environmental objects; acquisition of skills for identifying sources of environmental pollution with emissions and waste, solving engineering and technological problems of quality control, preservation, protection and improvement of the environment.
According to the work curricula, graduate students study the discipline in lectures and perform practical work.

Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Students' knowledge of the discipline is assessed by the following types of controls:
1) assessment of students' knowledge in practical classes;
2) Examination control.
Assessment of students' knowledge during practical classes is carried out in the following forms:
• survey of theoretical material;
• assessment of performance of situational exercises and tasks during class;
• evaluation of participation in discussions, summaries of the issues discussed in the practical session.
For practical classes, the maximum number of points is assigned according to the following criteria:
• survey - for a complete and thorough answer to a given question on the subject of the lesson;
• performance of situational exercises and tasks - for the proposed correct algorithm (sequence) of solving the task; for knowledge of the theoretical foundations of the problem posed in the task; for mastering the formulas and mathematical methods necessary to solve the task; for the correct result obtained.
• participation in discussions, summarizing the issues under consideration - for knowledge of the theoretical foundations of the problem, the ability to argue one's point of view, the ability to conduct a discussion correctly.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
