Learning outcomes: 1)knowledge of the differences between theoretical schools and areas in international political science; 2) knowledge of differences in the principles and methods of studying international relations in the framework of different theoretical approaches; 3) knowledge of the connection of political concepts and theories with the methods of research world polities and relations in the sphere of international life$ 4) knowledge of the views of leading researchers between theory and empiricism in the study of international relations; 5) ability to compare the views and concepts of different researchers, research schools and areas; 6) ability to describe the structure, constituent elements of concepts and theories of international relations, the nature of the relationship between them; 7) ability to compose a research program and organize research; 8) ability to conceptualize research; 9) the ability to identify and clarify the nature of the relationships between the data obtained from the study; 10) the ability to assess the value of the data obtained according to the hypotheses and tasks the beginning of the study
Required prior and related subjects: Pre- reguisites: Political Science; Theory of international relations. Co-reguisites: International and European security, Analysis and forecasting foreign policy, History and theory of research of international systems and global development.
Summary of the subject: Theory of international relations in the system of social sciences. The main stages of development of the theory of international relations. Basic models of international relations research. Methodological strategies of research organization. Methods of research of empirical levels. System approach and method of levels of analysis in the study of international relations. Sociology of international relations. Historical approach to the study of international relations. Comparative studies of international relations. Applied analysis of textual information on political issues. Expert methods in policy research. Modeling in the study of international relations.
