Learning outcomes: Integral competence: Ability to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems during professional activities in the field of international relations, public communications and regional studies, to conduct research and innovation activities involving deep rethinking of existing and creation of new holistic knowledge, as well as practical implementation results.
Deep knowledge of modern concepts and methods of scientific research, understanding the nature of science, methodological features of scientific knowledge, the formation of a systematic scientific worldview and professional ethics;
Ability to search, analyze and critically evaluate information from various sources, produce new ideas, understanding the latest research paradigms, strategies and procedures;
Ability to communicate effectively with the general scientific community and the public on topical issues of international relations and world politics, to present and discuss the results of their scientific work in Ukrainian and foreign languages;
Thorough knowledge of current problems of international relations, theories, concepts and research methods in the field of international relations and world politics;
Understanding of theoretical and methodological foundations of research in the field of international relations, public communications and regional studies, the ability to effectively apply them to analyze and predict problems and trends in global and regional international systems;
Understanding of modern international processes, features of functioning of international institutes;
Ability to use and implement the latest information and management technologies in the field of international relations, to solve applied problems of international relations, to make effective decisions.
Ability to demonstrate fundamental knowledge of modern theories, concepts, history of development and current state of research in the field of international relations and world politics;
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of theoretical and methodological approaches in the study of international relations, public communications and regional studies;
Knowledge and skills of scientific research of current issues of international relations, development and implementation of new innovative projects in the field of international relations;
To combine theory and practice, as well as to make decisions and develop a strategy for solving scientific and applied problems, taking into account universal values, social, state and professional interests;

Summary of the subject: War and peace in the socio-political thought of the ancient world.
The idea of ??cosmopolis and world law in the ancient tradition.
Development of a realistic approach in modern political thought.
Formation of the liberal paradigm of international relations in modern political thought. Formation of a Marxist approach in the study of international relations.
Formation of deterministic concepts of international relations in the second half of the XIX - first half of the XX century.
The first "big debate" in the theory of international relations: political realism versus political idealism.
Modernist trend in the theory of international relations.
Neorealism in the theory of international relations.

Assessment methods and criteria: Current control (40% - oral examination, reports, discussions, writing essays, case-study research, preparation of presentations on a given topic).
Final control (60% - examination - three-level testing).
