Learning outcomes: ZN-1 Ability to demonstrate systematic knowledge of modern research methods in the field of sociology, social and behavioral sciences. ZN-2. Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge in the chosen field of research. ZN-3. Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of domestic and foreign scientific achievements and practical experience in the field of sociology. ZN-4. Ability to demonstrate understanding of the impact of decisions and results obtained in the process of research on social processes. ZN-5 Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the philosophical methodology of scientific knowledge, psychological and pedagogical aspects of professional and scientific activities, own scientific worldview and moral and cultural values. UM-2. Apply knowledge and understanding to solve problems of synthesis and analysis of elements and systems specific to the chosen field of research. . UM-4. Apply a systematic approach, integrating knowledge from other disciplines in the process of solving theoretical and applied problems of the chosen field of research UM-5. To combine theory and practice in developing a strategy of analysis and decision-making, solving scientific and applied problems, taking into account universal values, public and state interests. AiV-1. Ability to independently plan and conduct research. AiV-2. Ability to adapt to new conditions, to make professional decisions independently. AiV-3. Ability to realize the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen the acquired and acquire new professional knowledge. AiV-4. Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisites - Philosophy and methodology of science, analytical and numerical methods of research of social problems; Methodology and research methods in qualitative sociology. Co-requisites - Empirical research in sociological practices: features of information collection and interpretation; Academic writing; Scientific communication: methods of publishing research results; Construction of academic texts and academic integrity.
Summary of the subject: Sociology as a science of man and society. Principles of scientific knowledge in sociology. Social work as a system of knowledge and technologies of influence on social problems. Sociological knowledge in social work: areas of application and opportunities. System approach in research: integration of knowledge of different disciplines in the process of solving theoretical and applied problems of the chosen field of research. Modern research methods in the field of sociology, social and behavioral sciences and their heuristic capabilities. Combination of theory and practice in developing a strategy of analysis and decision-making, solving scientific and applied problems, taking into account universal values, public and state interests. Planning, implementation of scientific research, presentation of research results for different audiences of stakeholders.
Assessment methods and criteria: • oral interview, participation in discussions, presentation of the research project (40%) • final control (control measure, exam): written and oral form (60%)
