Learning outcomes: to know: methodological foundations of functioning of public opinion in the light of general sociological methodology; theoretical models describing formation of public opinion by the social and communications technologies, social perception, communication and cooperation at the macro and micro levels; main directions and approaches to the implementation of social influence and communication technologies, in that those of the manipulative nature.
Required prior and related subjects: • General sociology; • General Psychology and Psychology of personality;
Summary of the subject: Public Relations (PR) as a field of scientific knowledge and an area of professional activity. Formula of PR. The origins and history of PR. The public in PR-system as an object and subject of communication. Public opinion: studies and formation. Communication as a process of information transfer. Lines of communication influence in the system PR - activities. Communication problems and PR - activities in the organization.
Assessment methods and criteria: • oral interviews, participation in discussions, presentation of the study project (40%) • final control (verification event, exam), written-oral form (60%)
