Learning outcomes: As a result of studying the discipline the student must demonstrate the following learning outcomes:
• Ability to solve complex specialized tasks on the formation and application of methods and technology of restoration of works of art; ability to solve complex practical and design problems of restoration activities during training; ability to use information and computer technology.
The study of the discipline involves the formation and development of students' competencies:
general:
• Ability to have a culture of thinking, generalization, analysis, perception of information, goal setting and choosing ways to achieve it in a practical situation.
professional:
• Ability to take into account the main aesthetic categories, the laws of artistic composition, ethnic, socio-cultural, economic, technological, natural and environmental principles of restoration of works of art.
The learning outcomes of this discipline detail the following program learning outcomes:
• Knowledge of historical and stylistic, architectural, artistic and plastic-artistic bases of restoration of works of art.
• Ability to master historical techniques and technologies of processing materials of works of art.
• Be able to perform project documentation for the restoration of works of art
Required prior and related subjects: Techniques and technologies of works of art from stone, History of art and architecture, part 1, Basics of restoration.
Summary of the subject: The discipline "History of Restoration by Profession" is a mandatory component of the educational program "Fine Arts, Decorative Arts Restoration" and is intended for study in the first semester of the first year. The course is based on the study of students' development of historical artistic styles of rescue, restoration and conservation work from the first attempts to restore the architecture of antiquity to acquaintance with the goals and objectives of restoration at the present stage. During classes, students acquire sound theoretical skills in the history of the development of restoration thought in the world and in Ukraine in particular.
Assessment methods and criteria: Individual research task 40 points
Written test 50 points
Oral test 10 points
The total number of points is 100.
