Learning outcomes: As a result of studying the academic discipline, the student must demonstrate the following learning outcomes: • The ability to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems during professional activities in the field of fine arts, restoration of works of wood, which involves the use of professional methods and techniques aimed at preserving various memories under uncertain conditions; • Obtaining knowledge for organizing communication interaction and solving professional conflict situations of interaction with fellow restorers and solving problematic issues by conducting scientific-restoration councils, debates and conferences; Knowledge and skills regarding the development and implementation of new innovative research methods and techniques of conservation and restoration of works of art; • Apply acquired knowledge and understanding to identify and analyze cultural monuments, works of art and their constituent elements made of wood; • Apply knowledge to solve problems of synthesis and analysis in systems that are aimed at identification, research or examination of cultural monuments or works of art. The study of an academic discipline involves the formation and development of students' competencies: general: • Ability to apply basic knowledge of fundamental sciences, to the extent necessary for mastering general professional disciplines. • Ability to demonstrate basic knowledge in the field of fine arts, decorative arts, restoration. • Ability to apply basic knowledge of scientific concepts, theories and methods necessary to understand the principles of operation and functional purpose of equipment and tools in the field of expertise, conservation and restoration of cultural and artistic monuments.Ability to apply basic knowledge of basic legal acts and reference materials, current standards and technical conditions, instructions and other regulatory documents in the field of examination, conservation and restoration of monuments of culture and art.• Ability to compile, issue and operate examination documentation, conservation and restoration of monuments of culture and art.
Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisites: Special plastics, Basics of sculpture. Corequisite: History of decorative and applied arts, Techniques of polychromy in works of art made of stone. Basics of sculpture.
Summary of the subject: The discipline "Fundamentals of restoration of works of art made of wood" is based on well-known provisions and results of modern scientific research, conducting expertise and a complex of conservation and restoration measures aimed at preserving cultural monuments and art made of wood. On the basis of the current international monument protection legislation ratified in Ukraine (the Law of Ukraine "On the Protection of Cultural Heritage", the Venice Charter, the Convention "On the Protection of the World Cultural Heritage", the Convention "On the Protection of the Architectural Heritage of Europe", Ethical and Aesthetic Principles of Conservation restoration activities). The educational and professional program has two practical lines - the application of practical skills in conservation and restoration, the examination of works of art made of wood, as well as the implementation of professional activities at the appropriate scientific and methodological leve
