Learning outcomes: The study of the discipline "Reconstruction of an architectural detail of stone" is to teach students methods and ways to solve problems related to methods and techniques of reconstruction of works of art from stone, as well as preparing students to solve problems related to stone restoration. The course is designed to form a student-restorer as a specialist who will be able to organically apply in practice their own level of knowledge and creative skills in the reconstruction of works of art from natural and artificial stone. The course "Reconstruction of an architectural detail from stone" aims to form a restorer who skillfully masters the scientifically sound techniques of reconstruction of works of art from stone and can manage the restoration work on architectural objects.
Required prior and related subjects: - Prerequisite: History of decorative and applied arts, restoration materials science, historical techniques and technologies of stone processing. Co-requisite: Computer technology in the diagnosis and restoration of stone.
Summary of the subject: The study of the discipline is the method of sequential teaching of material in the form of thematic blocks. The discipline "Reconstruction of an architectural detail from stone" is based on the study of the following educational blocks - scientific and technological examination of a work of art from stone, development of a map of losses, development of a restoration project, study of methods of reconstruction of works of art from limestone, sandstone, marble, artificial stone. The possibility of using synthetic polymers, pigments, biocides and antiseptics used in restoration for reconstruction is being studied. The study of the discipline is the method of sequential teaching of material in the form of thematic blocks. As a result of studying the discipline, the student must be able to independently perform the necessary research; competently present the results of research analysis in the form of the necessary documentation, be able to compile an algorithm of the necessary restoration measures and perform them qualitatively and independently.
Assessment methods and criteria: - Current control (40%): oral examination, Final control (60%), of which - written control (30%), defense of practical work (30%).
