Learning outcomes: The study of the discipline "Fundamentals of Sculpture (Part 8)" is mastering by students of three-dimensional thinking, feeling of plasticity and form, development of artistic and aesthetic taste. The aim of the project is to form students' sense of correct proportions and sense of materials, acquaintance with the method of searching for analogues and determining their belonging to certain stylistic features and time limits, mastering the skills of reproducing lost elements based on preserved parts or photographs, and preparing students for self-determination of issues related to the restoration of the sculpture. As a result of studying the discipline the student must: know the basic stylistic features of different types of sculpture, the basic techniques of modeling sculpture based on it purpose and conditions of use, requirements of the monument of the protection legislation, a technique of work with restoration materials at performance of additions of a sculpture from a stone
Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisite: special plastic, modeling of architectural detail, Co-requisite: conceptual and terminological apparatus, methodology.
Summary of the subject: The discipline "Fundamentals of Sculpture" is based on the study of the following educational blocks - the study of methods, techniques and technologies of modeling sculptures and architectural decorative details, development of algorithms for modeling sculptures, selection of tools and methods of sculpture. Study of the anatomical structure of the human face and body as a whole. Exploring issues related to modeling, copying and supplementing sculptures and architectural details, etc. The study of the discipline is a method of sequential teaching of material in the form of thematic blocks, which are revealed during the practical work on the task.
Assessment methods and criteria: - Current control (10%): oral interview, work in pairs. - Final control (90%): written and practical work.
