Summary of the subject: Discipline "Scientific basis of the study of architectural decor of historic buildings" is based on the study of the following educational blocks - scientific and technical survey of architectural decor of historic buildings, study of their properties, visual and technical characteristics by sections - architectural decor of antiquity, warrant, classical ornament, architectural decor renaissance, baroque, rococo, classicism, historicism, secession. The essence of inventory in the protection of architectural monuments and methods of studying and fixing the existing technical condition of architectural decor, taking into account European and American experience. Study of the inventory of architectural decor of historic buildings. Study of methods for determining the value and attribution of architectural decor. The possibility of reconstruction and addition of architectural decor of historic buildings is being studied. As well as recommendations and requirements for preserving the architectural decor of historic buildings. The study of the discipline is the method of sequential teaching of material in the form of thematic blocks.
